    6.5G vs 6ARC 14.5"

120 Nosler BT / SMK / Scenar / Berger Match BT is 2400 fps from 14.5" bbl'ed 6.5 Grendel. I don't have a 14.5" bbl'ed 6 ARC so unable to give you any hard data on that cartridge. Generally speaking, larger bore for same case size / volume will lose less when shortening barrel as burn rate...

    SOLD Burris XTR2 2-10x42 G2B ***SPF***

Spent some time chatting to shooting buddy who has XTR2, 2-10 and he also was quite complimentary of the optic. Should make an outstanding optic for 14.5", 6.5 Grendel and/or 223; still debating on which gets the XTR2.

Pierced Primer Question: AI AX and Prime 107 Grain 6mm Creedmoor

Powder used in PRIME ammo isn’t compatible with your rifle. Plenty of radius on primer, first glance this isn’t a peak pressure issue. Could be a primer cup issue (thickness, material, etc.) Picture 1, 3 (right side, closest) & 5 (right side, closest) shows protrusion of primer back into firing...

    300 wsm - 212 or 241 seneca

H1000, IMR7977 &/or RL-26 were options w/RL-26 being best. IMR8133 would probably be a little too slow in burn rate.

    300 wsm - 212 or 241 seneca

300 WSM, 230 Berger Hybrid, 3.200” OAL to put BT / bearing junction @ N / S junction. You could do 241 fairly easily, just determine needed freebore and have a reamer ground.

Started that way, chisel tip just works better and goes faster. Lotta ways to skin a cat.

Chisel point is the way to go! Works mucho better than any of the fine point markers, regular or fat body.

    Hoplite Arms

I only color Test Series (TS) ammo, once load is defined there isn’t a reason to ink bullets. Lime and teal aren’t very useful for bullet or brass marking.

    Hoplite Arms

Ink transfers to paper / cardboard just fine. Several reasons for marking case head and bullet. Quick visual to end user. Inked bullets. Transfer color to paper in case groups get mixed up. Testing at 2-300, guys have forgotten which aim point they used so shoot one aim point more than once...

    Hoplite Arms

Chisel point sharpie works best, gives nice even coloring. CDO flares up if bullet not evenly coated….there is that aspect involved also. Transfers well to paper, I prefer white, 110lb, cardstock when printing targets. Can usually see color on cardboard (IPSC target or repurposed Amazon box)...

Safety Warning for Berger 77 grain OTM: Pressure Testing Update

Means you are working with a powder that with a heavier bullet is going to be more peaky, more sensitive and with powder charge varying that much, can get you into a high(er) pressure situation. Krieger bbls then do run tight on land and groove diameters, not crazy tighter but tighter. That...
