Suppressors OSS vs Sig… which has less blowback?

Lower back pressure cans make it much less troublesome to run can off / can on without having to mess with settings. Gas gun there is an appreciable advantage to using a lower back pressure can, especially if rifle will be used w/ & w/o can attached. Lower back pressure can also allows rifle to...

    Gunsmithing Barrel Walking

Mirage band attaches above barrel to redirect heat away from optical path of scope. Definitely worth having, especially on hot and humid days that tends to exacerbate mirage effects. https://rifleshooter.com/2015/09/improvised-rifle-mirage-band/ I’ll dig out F-open rifle and put mirage band on...

Suppressors What effects backpressure on a piston gas gun

TranQuilo is about 4 oz heavier than OSS / HUX 7.62 QD made with 17-4 & about 9 oz more than the Ti HUX 7.62 QD. Yes, lead time can be long for TranQuilo. When getting TranQuilo as part of larger package (UUK, 6.5 Grendel FDE, etc.) for $400 it was too good of a deal to pass up, even if a...

Suppressors What effects backpressure on a piston gas gun

I have not tried OSS cans. Do have several TranQuilo that are used on 223, 25-08, 6.5 Grendel, 6.5 Creed, 260 Rem, 300 BO & 308 AR platforms. No appreciable difference on how upper cycles, where brass ejects when can is on or off.

Suppressors What effects backpressure on a piston gas gun

LaRue TranQuilo worth consideration for your application. Little heavy, maybe, but is great suppressor for AR platforms as adds very little backpressure.

    Arms unlimited???

Label created means just that, label is created. Might be vaporware or might mean label went on package and will be picked up by carrier later in day. Once carrier picks up, label will be scanned and you’ll be able to see movement of package. If no updates to tracking # by Wednesday AM, then...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Long Range Shotgun Advice

IF all your shots are going to be 60-70 yards, I’d go full choke. If only the occasional shot @ 60-70 yds, majority 40-45 yds and in then I’d stay with a modified choke. YMMV

Sidearms & Scatterguns Long Range Shotgun Advice

1 1/2 oz of #4 w/modified choke is what I recall using on jackrabbits. #4 or #2 lead should do better than #2 steel by a fair margin. Never shot peacocks but I’d probably stay modified, maybe go to a full.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Long Range Shotgun Advice

#4 lead shot , # 2 lead shot, #4 buckshot, # 2 buckshot. 1 1/2 of #4 lead shot worked well on jackrabbits in scrub brush, 50-60 yards out as I recall but was 20 years back…might not be most accurate memory. What shot size and oz available?

Hornady 6mm creedmoor ammo less than optimum case length after once fired

Brass from factory ammo, once fired, sized and not trimmed is measuring 1.780” for case length?

Hornady 6mm creedmoor ammo less than optimum case length after once fired

Max case length is 1.920”. 1.915” is plenty short for trimmed case length. 1.900” case length is going to cause you any appreciable accuracy issues. 1.800” case length, that’s over 0.100” too short….did you mean 1.890” case length?

    hole in primers?

What is FP diameter? What is diameter for FP in bolt face? Any other powders available? StaBALL 6.5 is showing as a little slower burn rate than 4350s, Viht N-550, IMR4451 and I suspect the time-pressure curve is causing you issues. Running suppressed or unsuppressed? How much difference in...
