    We lost.

+1000! When I was a kid, I witnessed the death of the Soviet Union from a rather shorter distance than I would have wished. That smell -- of a rotting empire on a verge of collapse -- is so familiar. EU is going to sink. It is going to sink soon. It is going to get ugly. And at that time, the...

    We lost.

Just stepped on this sad thread… No, it was not the frenchies (and you can trust someone who was deeply involved in the referendum committee in one of the worst cantons of all) – Basel and Zurich voted just as bad as Vaud and Geneva. No, it was not "women against guns" (a puppet PR outlet...

K31 trigger assemblies are tricky. Very reliable "out of the box", but not exactly intuitive for any trigger pull enhancement jobs. Most shooters prefer not to touch them (since if you don't know what you're doing -- you're 100% up for part replacement). "Don't touch the K31 trigger" is common...

K31 - Bolt not fully seating?

re: scopes -- on a flat base without counter-aiming the first one would go approximately up to 700m, the second -- up to 900m (at sea level). Beyond that -- you'd have to aim higher. re: brakes -- the one on the first (old) photo is a prototype piece produced long time ago by a local armourer...

Just an artefact of rendering. I do not remember what I used as a scene / lightning for the model render job; must be some surface reflection.

    Equivalent Horizontal Range

EHD is pretty useless beyond 400m or so. Improved rifleman's rule is way better. Even better though -- a ballistic calculator at hand, or inclined fire corrections right in yur ballistic cards. More info: https://guns.ptosis.ch/bytag-all/4

K31 - Bolt not fully seating?

In ICAO 0 alt., total drop is about 14.3 mrad. So with a flat 0 MOA mount one would need at least twice as much elevation range in the scope to shoot at this distance. At 1500m alt., to go to 1100m (reasonable max for consistent hits in good conditions) a S&B PMII 3-12x DT needs an inclined...

A pleasure to see those at the other side of the pond! The serial number corresponds to year of manufacture 1943; the carbine has seen the Mobilisation, when at any given moment 1/3 of all men able to hold a rifle were at the border, waiting to welcome the Germans by bits of 11g solid metal at...

Very, very interesting indeed! If I did not invest in [insanely expensive] Norma brass some time ago, I would definitely test the tool. Because, judging, by .388, RUAG brass is absolutely great. Did anyone already play with the russianreloads tool for 7.5.ch? How is it?

    Best Software for comparing trajectories

What exactly are you trying to achieve? Trajectory? Range cards? Hit probability depending on different factors? I have the same problem as you -- thorough allergy to windoze, and as nothing was available, I am putting together a few lines of code, which might scratch your itch. (all open...

Never heard of that. In 1990s they did make a very small jubilee run for the 80th anniversary, but it did cost "an arm and a leg". The hi-end century-plus-old design was not made for CNC, and relies a lot on qualified manual work, which got insanely expensive in the meantime. Knowing that...

As you said, Norma brass is excellent, but insanely expensive. Recently, Sellier & Bellot started manufacturing 7.5x55; factory ammo is not as good as ordnance GP11, but the brass is good, certainly better than Partizan.

Yep. https://k31.ch/en/ http://sureshot-armament.com/ Fits the ISSF competition specs just fine (but needs a lower cheekpiece to shoot with diopter sights).
