    Bighorn Origin Build Thread

The Origin will not work with the Wyatt's boxes. To run the 6.5 PRC, you have to run it out of a detachable box magazine without a binder plate. Thank you

TL3 Vs Origin, what am i sacrificing?

The Origin will always have a slightly stiffer bolt lift than the TL3 will. That's because the Origin has more firing pin fall AND a steeper extraction cam angle. When re-cocking the bolt, the Origin has to move a farther linear difference at a steeper angle. Bolt close can be made nearly...

NEW From Zermatt Arms - RimX Actions

We went to the swept handle on the Origin because that was what the overwhelming majority of the public had indicated they wanted. We kept it on the RimX because it's a more direct fit than a straight handle into Remington 700 inlet stocks. We understand there's a desire for a straight handle...

    ORIGIN Orders

If you believe you have a Rev1 bolt and are having actual issues with the function of your action, send me an email with a picture of the bottom of your bolt body where the cocking piece is held in relation to the cocking ramp and I'll advise what to do. If you're not unhappy or having problems...

Neither of them are close to a TL3 because of the firing pin fall combined with the degree of closing and extraction cams.

And just to be crystal clear, there is not a functionality problem with the Rev1 bolts. They work just fine, but they are much harder to time without taking out a bunch of firing pin travel. Also, the Rev2 bolts create a heavier bolt lift because the ramp angle is steeper. Thank you - Ray

You may still have a first revision bolt. There was a revision change very early in production and we've corrected most of them. If you could send me an email ([email protected]), I'll get it sorted out with you. Thanks - Ray

You're going to be best off following the below advice. Measure the cock on close and let us know how much you have. We can get you the correct size cocking piece so everything matches up the best and you don't have to worry about changing the designed geometry.

NEW From Zermatt Arms - RimX Actions

Not sure on the others weights, but we're just producing actions and magazines. So it's going to be tough to compare without a barrel attached. If I had to guess, I'd say about 34 oz's because there is far less material removed in the ejection port and magazine well.
