    Temperature sensitivity

Can anyone point me to any data on temperature sensitivity of Lapua rimfire ammo? I've noticed that under 50F my good lot of CenterX is less good. Today I played around with that CenterX and some Biathlon Extreme in temps just above 50F, and it looks like the CenterX slowed down 20 to 30 FPS...

NEW From Zermatt Arms - RimX Actions

If you are taking about the gauge that comes with the action, that is a NO go gauge. A little pressure on the rm is o.k.; too much and you risk unnecessary/undesirable wear. It’s hard to say exactly how much pressure is the right amount, and different ammo will have differing rim thickness...

Which primer for 6.5 creedmoor Lapua Brass (Small Rifle primer pocket)?

BR4s have been my choice, although after my stash runs out the current prices might make me reconsider that and use 450s.

    Shipping Firearms via UPS

The UPS terms include licensed collectors, so it should. But it also says you must have an agreement in place with UPS, and at this point I do not know how to get that agreement or what the requirements are.

    Shipping Firearms via UPS

Anyone know what the required agreement is for FFLs to ship guns? Sounds like FFL03 is included, but I’m not sure what requires they have to enter into the agreement that allows you to ship firearms.

    Shipping Firearms via UPS

I don’t have it in front of me, but I saw something this morning or yesterday that said that UPS is changing it’s rules to only allow FFLs to ship. I didn’t have time to look at the details, but it is definitely getting harder to ship firearms.

    RimX, PVA or Keystone?

I have 3 Keystone barrels. The first was a very early one; it has a very tight chamber and it took a little time to wear in to feed smoothly, but after that it has worked perfectly. I also had them do 1:9 and 1:6 twist barrels. No complaints whatsoever with the 1:9 barrel, it functions...

Brand New 6.5 Grendel Feeding Issues

Check your extractor. I had a problem like that, and the extractor was a little too thick. I swapped pieces one by one, and when I changed te extractor it started working properly. Not sure exactly what was happening, but my best guess was that the thick extractor was slowing the bolt down...

Range Report New Sierra 150 SMK for 6.5

I haven't tried them in a 6.5CM, but I did try them in a 260 Rem (a long time ago). I could not get them to group decently, but that was in an 1:8 twist barrel.

    Annealing, how often?

I’m lazy, I do it every 3d time. That’s when I can tell the difference in neck tension.

    New Hornady 109gr 6mm ELD-M

I haven't used them extensively at 1000yds, because at that range the BC difference for the At-Tips is significant, but when I was testing them they shot just fine at 1k. But I have a 1:7.25 twist barrel.

    About to start loading 22lr

The Manson/CE reamer for the 50gn CE bullet has a .150 long .2215 diameter freebore. For the 32gn and 42gn CE bullets, there is a .075 freebore. I'm not sure why they did it that way, although I vaguely recall them saying something like it allows the bullet to build more speed. It does seem...

    About to start loading 22lr

FYI, I ordered some of the Badlands bullets a couple months ago, and at that time they were asking $24/box of 50. I would be willing to sell some of them if you want to try them out. They look like great bullets, but my barrel has the CE chamber with the long throat and the accuracy was not...

    Cutting Edge CuRx loading tray

I’ve been shooting the 50gn CE bullets in a 1:6 twist barrel with decent results. I think whether you can shoot traditional ammo well will depend on what chamber you use. If you use the CE recommended chamber, traditional ammo probably won’t be as good as it is in a tight match chamber. But a...

What 6mm 1000 yard bullet for CM?

The 110 JLK was my favorite when they were available. Then I switched to A-Tips as the best available substitute. Berger 109 hybrids also worked well, but not quite as consistently as the Atips. The new 109ELDs from GAP work great, too, but give up some BC to the Atips that shows out past...

Proof & Bartlein CF rimfire barrel experience

Bartlein's stated approach was that they only do the CF barrels if they could keep the same high level of quality as standard barrels. The result is that their CF barrels are heavier than others, but I have not heard of any problems with then My experience is only with a rimfire barrel, and I...
