    121grn warner tool flatline/or 130 berger hybrids ?

Well said lash. Short throats are actually a benefit to solids. But the issues, when there are any, usually are the rifling as you stated. We used to have a saying with factory-out of the box Remington rifles... you might get lucky and you might not with respect to their performance. Same holds...

World's Longest Shot 'Quit Your Bitchin' ELR match

So we are continuing to test these in order to garner the specific gain the ring adds to transition. The theory us that by creating a small shock wave up front, the turbulence created by the rifling in the bullet is lost in the boundary layer and coning is thus reduced. There are two ways to do...

World's Longest Shot 'Quit Your Bitchin' ELR match

The Tubb ring actually reduces the BC by about roughly 3 to 5%. Nothing to dramatic there. Here's a shot of some 375 361gr Flatlines with the ring. To clarify my previous post... we have not yet added the rings to our smaller bullets, and we will do this in an order based on demand. 198s are...

World's Longest Shot 'Quit Your Bitchin' ELR match

It was a 33XC, not a LM. While we do not yet have the Tubb nose ring mod available yet on our website, you can order them if you call us. We'll have the option on our website very soon. So far, we have them added to all the larger bullets in our line up; .338 and larger. I have had requests...

World's Longest Shot 'Quit Your Bitchin' ELR match

Hoffer- You are asking the wrong guy. Although I could speculate, it wouldn't be right. That question should be directed toward the MD and ELRC themselves; I had nothing to do with it in any way. Hk996- The MV on the 338 that hit 2650 was 3354fps. Since I was not there, I have no pictures to...

WARNER FLAT LINE 6MM 88GR LOAD DATA FOR 6BR ??

We are uploading starting load data as we produce it and I believe the 6br is already on our website. Your Varget load should be good. I'd suggest backing off a grain or 2 and ladder up. I can also say that we've had good results with H4895 and Enduron 4166.

    121grn warner tool flatline/or 130 berger hybrids ?

We're talking groove diameter, not bore. The bore diameter on your 6mm barrel should be 0.243. But since you asked, you may get slightly higher pressure with the .236 vs the .237 bore diameter. I would favor the .237 myself. Otherwise, the groove diameter(s) are not altered in what is...

    121grn warner tool flatline/or 130 berger hybrids ?

The point here is gas leak. It is fact that a jacketed bullet expands to fit the groove of a barrel on initial start pressure. It is this fact that gives barrel manufacturers leeway in the tolerance of barrel groove diameters. Lets use the 6.5mm (.264) for example. The nominal groove...

    Range Report Flatline 6mm Bullet

I think you'll find that they are too new for a lot of direct reports. I don't know of anyone yet that has run them in a 243 Win. But I will say that 3400fps should be a mild load and 3600fps is certainly achievable. Would you like to be the first?

2.400 is a good starting number that works in a chamber throated for 105 class jacketed bullets.

Range Report Light vs heavy bullets

One certainly has to have enough velocity to see the difference/advantage. The simple answer is the time of flight. The longer its in the air traveling to its target, the more it can and will be affected by the elements it travels through. Flatter trajectory (higher BC) and increased velocity...

2 "Train of thoughts" arising in ELR

We are always messing around with that stuff in hopes that it can be done right. The problem in this industry is that platers make all kinds of crazy promises and fail miserably when it comes to the details. "Sure, we can do that, it will be amazing". Yup, you did it, but its 2x as thick as...

So my GAP 6.5Creedmoor is out shooting my AXMC 338Lapua at distance... Update! (bottom of page 2)

First, stop comparing the two. While performance indicator comparisons are good, it won't help you solve the specific issues that plague one rifle. Now you can start to isolate key points with the problem child. More information is needed regarding the 338, but I think you have touched on...

    Most accurate 338 solid projectile?

Never really though of it that way. Might be a funny marketing ploy; side by side pictures, one of a tattooed guy with a bull ring hanging from his nose, and the other with a Flatline with its modification and a caption below that states "One of these will get you through transonic flight, the...

    Most accurate 338 solid projectile?

So far, we have added the Tubb nose ring to the 361gr and 400gr 375 bullets. These are available for sale right now. The reason that we have not made a lot of noise about it is because we would like to have our own test data on the modification with respect to performance. David can speak...
