    Garmin xero is acting wonky

Yes sir, they asked me that and also had me look at unit and read off some current firmware. They said it was current, and I just updated it a mo ago.

    Garmin xero is acting wonky

Bought a xero last Feb and have been using it for the last yr. I noticed early on that sometimes it would show the first shot in a session as 60+fps faster than the rest. Not always, and when it happens it was usually first rd. Fouled barrel, cold barrel, warm barrel, doesnt seem to matter...

    7mm PRC

So, what was different in your reloading between first and 2nd rd of testing? Or are we gonna chalk it up to barrel? On 2nd rd, did you do more than 3 rd groups/velocity strings? You kind of conflated those. Initial load work showed promise, even bragged on best group youd ever shot...

    7mm PRC

Theres nothing wrong about trying different components to experiment. Not sure I'd try to call that "saving components," though. H1000 looks like a solid load, if it checks out at 1k. If it was me, I'd be taking the best load of those and load up 20. Retest for a 10rd group at 100 for...

Trigger hanger adjustment vs. sear engagement: Which one first?

You want the med top sear on the bix with a cdg. Honestly, the adjustable trigger hanger on the cdg has nothing to do with top sear height. In other words, the correct top sear height will determine how much overlap, or how little, you have between the cocking piece and the top sear shelf...

    Velocity of Loads

They might be fine in a 12 if you drive them hard enough. Just looking around on the web, guys said it would not stabilize in a 14tw, at all. I always figured since length is close to 69smk, actually a horn 68hpbt is real close, and both of those recommend 9tw or faster. I always erred on the...

    Velocity of Loads

Yes and no, depends on bullet construction. An all copper bullet is lighter than a lead/copper bullet. Equal weights of those yield a longer all copper bullet. I'm not sure what the core is in that 53 vmax, or if it's got a larger void behind the tip, but it is significantly longer than a 50...

Anyone have the details on the event that triggered the CZ600 recall?

i bought a trail for thermal night use. I also watched alot of reviews on it and most of the guntubers were using green tip and other shit ammo. A few were using decent ammo but we're shooting from a card table with shit rests. Here's mine, confirming zero at 65yds(gives me a mpbr of 265 yds...

    Velocity of Loads

Im pretty sure that 53gr vmax requires faster than 12 tw, it is looong bullet and not really far bc-wise from the 69smk.

    7mm PRC

My test with stabil hd, win mag primers and 180eldm was less than great, in fact it was pretty sad. I fouled the bore with some factory 180eldm, ave 2895 fps over 10rds. I almost hate showing the stabil hd groups, I started to wonder if I forgot how to shoot after the 3 weeks of snow /ice on...

    7mm PRC

I've got some hornady brass from factory 180eldm. I'm gonna play with stabil hd, win large mag primers, and 180eldm. Hopefully they prove better than the 183smk, the 183 looked good initially forgot to start chronograph for first shot

    7mm PRC

I've been using adg brass, cci 200 and 70gr h1000 with 183smk and 184 f open. Smk are running 2998 and the f opens are running 3025. I quit the 183smk due to bullet inconsistencies, as much as .025 diff in length. When I watermarked the loads at 950 and 1400, the smk had 3x as much vert...

Weigh in on my next coyote rifle build

That must be a hot load or really long barrel. The 22-250 I've had were really being flogged to get a 50gr vmax@3900, 26" barrels. 22-250, 22 creed, 243, or 6creed would be my choice.

Thoughts on the Aero Precision SOLUS ?

Tikka is a 75ish° bolt throw.

Thoughts on the Aero Precision SOLUS ?

Yeah, I'm gonna have to see that math. They both have similar bayonet fp disassembly, both have swappable bolt faces, both have side bolt release. The origin has the better ejector. I honestly prefer a separate scope rail, on short actions I like the rail to extend forward past lug/front edge...

Thoughts on the Aero Precision SOLUS ?

The cdg action is nice, have a 7prc built on one

Thoughts on the Aero Precision SOLUS ?

Well it is a fairly smooth action, at least my example of 1. The bolt seems a little less bindy than an origin, if origin isn't pushed fwd perfectly straight. It can also be picked up for 225-525 bucks less than an origin or cdg.

    Badger Ordnance M2013 project

I called Jeff about a month ago. His answering machine has a message that he took a full time machinist job and does not gunsmith anymore, except for 2013 stock inletting, which is done on an evening/weekend basis when he has time. I've got 2 ai chassis down by Jeff, his work is fantastic.

Can anyone tell me more about this style of mount/ lug?

Looks like a spigot for a versapod. As others mentioned, lowers CG, keeps forend clean for riding a bag or ruck, and also is extremely qd(push a latch and slide off, slide on till it clicks).
