For those that are interested, I have the cap built for the USB power cable, thanks to adrummer292 for the loan of his unit. I sent a note to Preston to see if SOK wants to carry these along with the original CUBA, if he does, they will be exclusive through them. If you already have a CUBA...

What can cause a bullet to impact higher, when moving back to 200 yards, from 100 yards?

True, but given the ranges and elevation, it would take a mount like that to cause the issue. If that were the case, I doubt the OP would be asking about it here.

What can cause a bullet to impact higher, when moving back to 200 yards, from 100 yards?

Absent a 5"+ high scope mount, if he is in fact zeroed at 100, it's low at 200. Yes, there are two zero points on a trajectory, but with conventional sights and cartridges, the near/far zero at 100 yards is at best 100 - 105. Caliber is not stated, nor is bore height, but a .308 with a factory...

What can cause a bullet to impact higher, when moving back to 200 yards, from 100 yards?

Are your sights above the bore? If so, and you were actually on zero at 100 then the bullet will strike low at 200. So, you either were not zeroed, or you incorrectly set the elevation knob. Gravity is not just a good idea, it's the law.

Ammo Hornady 285gr BTHP #3339 bullets, 9 boxes of 50

I've got 9 boxes plus an open box of 40 or so, the original BTHP version, #3339. The new ELD-M are $50 a box, I'll sell these for $25 plus shipping. Medium USPS flat rate box should work, $17. Trades for Hornady .30 cal 190 Sub-X or Sierra .30 175 SMK also works Good 338LM bullets, I've just...

Measuring the velocity of the bullet a target distance

The Shotmarker is quite precise, assuming you make a good frame. I use it during XLR here at Gunsite. The radar chronos will work if you can put the bullet in the beam and use Doppler triggering, the original LabRadar works. The ShotMarker requires the bullet to be supersonic, the radar does not.

Figured out the cap thread is in fact different enough that I need to have a device here to fit it.

Seems I can't send yo a PM for some reason. If you can live without your TAD for a few days, I'll get a cap printed up and give you a USB power cable system for it when I return it. Ship to Cory Trapp c/o Gunsite Academy, Inc. 2900 West Gunsite Road Paulden, AZ 86334

I make the CUBA for SOK, the battery cap on the TAD is not the same as the COTI's, I need to get a unit in hand for a few days to create a new cap. As yet, no one has offered to do so.

Double start acme thread. Give me a mailing address in a PM and I'll send you a cap to test fit. Might need to get a unit here to make a new cap. Looks a little shorter, but that's not a big issue.

Can I presume it has the same battery cap as the COTI/E-COTI, which would mean my USB battery cap system will work without changes?

New cable setup to run a Manticore-R with E-COTI off either a standard battery pack or a USB battery. QD on the splitter so it can mix/match at will.

Does any ballistic app or software have a graph that shows the LOS in relation to the bullet trajectory?

Not exactly a strawman when you reference the issue in your own post. And 'likely' wouldn't rise above it? I presume you refer to ricochets. If words are to be useful, they must have meaning. You said 'rise above the bore', which is simply not accurate.

Does any ballistic app or software have a graph that shows the LOS in relation to the bullet trajectory?

We need drop (from the bore line) to calculate for inclined fire trajectories. See page 42, the first page of vacuum trajectory where we need the bore angle from horizontal as part of the integration equations. That superelevation angle is the bore line. Ballistic arcs are depicted relative...

Does any ballistic app or software have a graph that shows the LOS in relation to the bullet trajectory?

The issue is up relative to what? The only solid relationship is the bore centerline. The barrel is nominally at an up angle, relative to the sights. If I shoot downhill, is the barrel angled up or down? Up in relation to the sights, down in relation to gravity. Now, if I shoot downhill...
