Horse Power, Track Shit, Torque, Cubic Inches, Liters, Run What Ya Brung, Auto or Cycle

I think most hoods have more convex shape than we realize. Every time I think a straight edge across the fenders will get me in the ballpark I'm dead wrong.

    Buffer trouble.

I think you'd be surprised how many barrel manufacturers just follow the known guidelines and don't really know how to optimize this stuff.

    Buffer trouble.

Haven't read the whole thread, but that stuck out pretty quick. As long as we're talking about bad advice pet peeves, when someone is having undergassed problems and the peanut gallery collectively suggests an AGB, that winds me up pretty good. AGB's don't add gas beyond the maximum you're...

    Maggie’s Motivational Pic Thread v2.0 - - New Rules - See Post #1

I've been hoping to find an H&K SL6 or SL7 in the wild for almost two decades now.

    Any F1 racing fans?

Easily some of the most entertaining racing in existence.

New Sig Spear (6.8x51 Sig Fury) now shipping

No. People that buy Kimbers do not shoot guns. They polish guns. Kimbers work great for that.

Short barrel 22 arc velocity 12.5 to 14.5 inch

Hmm. My idea for a 14.5" with 75 ELD's might be as good as I think it is..

Which 7.62x39 upper do you guys recommend?

Based on his other threads, the cheapest stuff.

Which twist rate should I get?

In a 10.5"? Probably with a dot on it? Doesn't matter at all.

Which 7.62x39 upper do you guys recommend?

My experiences have led me to a place that cause me to only use the words accuracy and Faxon in the mutually exclusive sense. But 7.62x39 isn't far behind when talking about inaccuracy.

    5.56x45 muzzle device questions

It's also one of the less obnoxious ones to be next to, if that's something a guy is concerned about.

    5.56x45 muzzle device questions

Alright I'm with Rob now, some overthinking is clearly taking place here. But in summary, a comp is designed to keep the muzzle from rising, a brake is designed to harness the muzzle blast energy like a sail and pull the rifle forward, lessening recoil. Almost all of such devices on the market...

    5.56x45 muzzle device questions

Well, you certainly understand the definitions of various types of muzzle devices. One thing to note is that almost all brakes and comps on the market today are a hybrid of both functions. Even fairly vanilla designs like the old Miculek brake has plenty of compensation designed in. All that...

Didn't we have a bunch of Sig nuthuggers hanging around here a while back? Where did they go?

    Any F1 racing fans?

Same. I don't get too wrapped up in the personalities of drivers, but Norris really does seem like a whiny bitch. That and since all F1 media seems to be British and they are overly biased, I enjoy seeing the British drivers get beat.

    Smallest .875 gas block?

I'm probably a lot more likely to swap gas blocks than I am to have a problem caused by only having one set screw in a dimple. I've got a fleet of barrels without any dimples and no problems, so one dimple is an upgrade that is plenty sufficient for my uses.
  18. TonyTheTiger

    Smallest .875 gas block?

I'd leave it with just one dimple. If you ever change gas blocks the hole centers may have different spacing.

    Smallest .875 gas block?

    Why not?
