Haha they are definitely not needed but I have a few custom rimfires that are all too heavy for hunting so figured I wanted a light weight one.
Plus we do a friendly squirrel shoot every year that pays a few thousand dollars to the winner. So my winnings helped build the rimx squirrel build
Rimx, 20” carbon ibi, hnt 26, tt diamond, apex rival in that photo but it normally wears an apex hunter 3-15x44 for weight. I use the rival for competition and the apex hunter reticle closely relates making it easy to transition between.
I owned a kelbly atlas tac for years, and now have a kelbly obsidian (atlas tac lite muzzleloader bolt face) and they are insanely smooth, very light bolt lift and close. Excellent actions!
Not an Apollo but i do have a Zeus and a buddy has the Apollo. One a 6.5 creed hunting rifle and 1 a 25 creed prs rig. Both actions are superb. Heavier bolt lift than the tikka, but it’s supper smooth and incredible light bolt lift.
I much prefer flat. I’ve been shooting curved tt diamonds for 8 years and switched over all my triggers to flats after using my first one end of last season. It is just a preference thing. You’ll need to feel both
here’s a 26” 1.250 straight with a direct thread to a spearhead tuner. I have a thread protector as well incase I don’t want to use it or don’t need it.
