    Loading past book max???

@Milo 2.5 I’ve seen Hodgdon’s published data and Hornady’s published data for the same bullet be off considerably before. I know you’re making the point that he is looking at 2 different manufacturer’s bullets in the same weight class, and that’s not a good comparison, but I’m just saying it...

    Loading past book max???

I don’t have some amount I’m willing to go over published max and some amount I won’t. With most calibers, especially .308/ 6.5CM and similar capacity calibers, I’ve found case fill/ compression is the best way to guess at pressure problems before actually firing. If you’re at less than 100%...

    AI AT Transportation/Barrel Removal

@Badfinger no, just hand tight. I screw it until it hits the face of the action, back it off a little, then jerk it tight again and keep torquing for a second. I’ve been using 55 in-lb on the quickloc lately instead of 49 in-lb, but other than that nothing special.

    AI AT Transportation/Barrel Removal

My AT was legitimately perfect in return to zero. I had a 26” 6.5x47L barrel and a 16” .308 barrel, and they both had the exact same zero setting. Every time I screwed either one of them on, the zero was perfect. I now have an AX instead, with the same .308 barrel but now a Proof carbon 6.5x47L...

Can a Carbon Fiber Shouldered Barrel be installed with muzzle flats?

I can tell you that the Proof CFW prefit barrels for AI rifles come with the flats machined on the muzzle end of the barrel as standard from Proof. Obviously, these are primarily for the Quickloc AI actions, so most people won’t be applying any large amount of torque to them, especially compared...

@clubsportmark I’m not sure, but I’m pretty confident that the AX butt weighs more. I think they’re pretty close though. I could be wrong though.

    Accuracy International Picture Thread

I’ve got 400 rounds through my Proof carbon prefit 6.5x47L barrel now and it is really impressing me. It’s even slightly more precise and consistent than my Gradous barrel I replaced for it. As long as I don’t make a mistake, it very consistently prints 5 shot groups in the .3” range, and...

@BLKWLFK9 I’ve been using Lucas Extreme Duty gun oil for the past year and really like it. I’ve been using it on my AX, AR15, and 40-X repeater and have been very happy with it.

    Welp... broke a Harris

The smart ass in me couldn’t resist. Does more than 40% more height adjustment range (4.25” to 9” vs 6” to 9”) and 150% more leg angle positions (0, 45, 90, 135, 180 degrees vs 0, 90 degrees) not count as doing something better? Also, I have no dog in this fight, I have an old Atlas and an old...

    Mounting a magneto speed

@Tono mine didn’t have the elevation tension screw, and that was a very nice improvement on his design. I’ll admit that improves it a lot, but that wasn’t my main complaint or dislike about it. I think the best way to say it is, if you buy any of these mounts, you’re going to be spending a lot...

    Mounting a magneto speed

I made it seem worse than what it actually is with how I worded my post. The Wiser isn’t bad, it just wasn’t as convenient for me. I will say it has some of the highest quality 3D printed parts I’ve ever seen, it is very good on that front. My biggest problem with it was the design. It...

    Mounting a magneto speed

The carbon rod and the actual mount for the magnetospeed are two seperate pieces on the Wiser. The mount slides against another mount on the rod with two interfacing smooth, flat surfaces (which is what allows the vertical adjustment range), and the only thing that holds these two pieces...

    Mounting a magneto speed

I had the Wiser and didn’t like it. I really didn’t like the strap mechanism it uses for tension, and found it a much bigger pain in the ass to set up as opposed to just direct mounting the Magnetospeed normally. I hated that the mount plate and carbon rod are two separate pieces with absolutely...

    Case Trimming Machine

I have the Giraud and really like it, but I would prefer to have a trimmer that indexes off the bottom of the case instead of the shoulder. I’ve recently begun contemplating taking an arbor press and converting it into a power trimmer, but I haven’t sat down to plan the design in full yet. My...

Purpose and Idea behind using 155gr pills with a .308?

I’m using 155 Hybrids, but the reason I chose them is they have a higher BC than the 168 SMKs I was using before, and I can push them MUCH faster, which is particularly relevant for me because I’m using a 16” barrel which struggles with getting bullets heavier than 155s to a respectable speed...

    Armageddon...is these really it? $29.99

I agree their description makes it seem like it should have come with two of the spacers they have shown. In their defense, they never once used the word cheek riser anywhere on the product page, but I agree their description implies that’s what it’s for. Ultimately, I don’t think there is...

    Armageddon...is these really it? $29.99

I don’t understand what your question or problem is. They have pictures of it on the product page you linked to, and what you have looks exactly like the 5 pictures on their website.

My proof 6.5x47L has shot every single load I’ve tried in it under .6 moa. Most loads shoot around .3 or .4 moa. I’m also extremely happy with it.

Rifle Scopes Tangent, Minox, or Vortex

I just got a Minox and absolutely love it also. It is incredible, and is better in every category to some degree over my Vortex AMG, which is in turn as good as or slightly better than my Gen II Razor I had before the AMG. I have absolutely no complaints about the Minox, and the only scope I...

    Virgin brass not grouping

Also, I just thought of this. It’s odd you’re getting good SD, which implies to me you’re problem isn’t related to high neck tension or problems like cold welding, those should cause erratic velocity between shots. Perhaps the problem is runout on the virgin brass, and your bullet is going into...
