WTS- March 3-24x52 FML-T1 Illuminated w/ Spuhr *Sold

I’m looking to sell my March 3-24x52 FML-T1 illuminated scope. I’ve used it for a couple of years on my 40-X .22lr repeater conversion trainer rifle and have really liked it. I’m looking to pick up a Minox for my AX, and will move my AMG that’s on there currently over to the 40-X. It will come...

    Load development with virgin brass?

@TheGerman In my experience, .5 to .7 moa loads are extremely easy to get, and don’t require load dev to achieve if you’re using a quality barrel and action. If it’s for a caliber I’ve shot before, I’ll pick a load I used in the past to fireform. If not, I’ll look for something several other...

    Load development with virgin brass?

@FishDr thanks for the advice. I run a Co-ax press so unfortunately I can’t run the Redding shell holders. If I do run into a problem, my plan has been to either get a new set of the Forster shellholder plates and grind them down on top to allow the die to turn farther down, or just do the same...

    Load development with virgin brass?

@supercorndogs I haven’t seen a need to send it in yet. It’s a 6.5x47L, so I never shoot any factory stuff, and am not worried about being able to run it (though I have a suspicion I would get some crazy good SD if I did run the factory stuff, they would probably have a perfect shoulder bump in...

    Load development with virgin brass?

@Snuby642 I don’t, just because I want to minimize the amount the brass stretches on the first firing. If I was trying to do load dev with virgin brass, I would definitely FL size it though. A slightly interesting aside: I just got a prefit barrel from Proof for my AX, and it has the tightest...

    Load development with virgin brass?

I don’t ever do load dev on virgin brass either. Odds are the geometry of the case will change enough to be significant. There are also other benefits. I can pick a random load based on looking at what others have reported as being successful, and get good precision. This means I can play around...

    Forster Ultra Micrometer Seating Die

If you don’t mind the fact that a beam scale will be slower to use, they are a very great cheap alternative to get very consistent precision in your charges. I’ve seen several people that will place a video camera pointing at the balance point and stream it on a laptop beside them. This keeps...

    Forster Ultra Micrometer Seating Die

You’re error of .01” on OAL is pretty bad. I think you mentioned earlier you were getting readings from the tip as opposed to from the ogive, but even still I think you should be able to hold about half of that error. My loads, regardless of caliber, will fall within a .0015” (measuring from...

    March 3-24x52

I forgot they had floating dot reticles, I thought the other options were standard mil crosshair style reticles. Looking at the FML-1 it seems good. Both of my other two scopes right now use a center dot, and that has become what I prefer. I might actually prefer the FML-1 looking at it, but the...

    Forster Ultra Micrometer Seating Die

If all you saw previously was faint ring marks, that should be an indication that the stem is a slightly poor fit for your bullets, but not terrible. I think it should have been crushing the jacket if the stem were bad enough to deteriorate to what you’re current problem is. The faint marks are...

    Forster Ultra Micrometer Seating Die

I’ve never seen this sort of problem before. You’re neck tension is still a little higher than normal, but not extreme like your initial stated neck ID. I would also agree that the seating stem is the problem. There is a chance the stem is simply a terrible fit for the bullets you’re using, and...

    Forster Ultra Micrometer Seating Die

If I’m reading you’re initial post correctly, you have .011” neck tension on these rounds, which is ridiculously high. That’s over five times more than what I and most other people use, which is .002” neck tension. If this is the case, I’m 95% sure this is the root of your bullet seating...

    March 3-24x52

I’ve been using one with the FML-T1 reticle on my 40-X Repeater conversion for a couple years and really like it. The eye box is definitely tighter than I wish it were and it’s not like other scopes where you can set and forget the parallax after a certain distance, and I understand why so many...

@Dave62677 it’s an Armageddon Gear Gamechanger. I also have a couple crappy home made handheld ones, a TAB small handheld bag, and an ESC Dynamic large bag, but the Gamechanger is the only bag I’ve been using lately, mostly because it’s so much heavier than my others.

Got my new Proof prefit 6.5x47L barrel out today. I just loaded up some rounds using an old mild load with 130 VLDs I used to use a lot with my old Gradous barrel. Despite being pretty miserable outside in the 20 degrees and hurricane force arctic wind blasting directly in my face relentlessly...

    Barrel Cooler - Any good?

I have one of the Chamber Chillers. Mine is the battery powered version, but the usb powered one is definitely the way to go. It’s definitely worth having, I use it mostly when I’m finished shooting while packing stuff up, to let my suppressor return to non nuclear temps before I put it back in...

Chassis for bolt action short barreled rifle

Here’s a couple pics to give you an idea what it would look like with the AX.

Chassis for bolt action short barreled rifle

That thing is sick, really cool. If the AT doesn’t fit, another option could be to run an AX chassis, but take off the forend rail. If you put a RRS plate on it, you would have a dovetail rail for mounting a bipod on. You could also cut the forend rail to an appropriate length if you wanted.

The only thing I ever managed to get to attach without any slop to the AT spigot was the Big Dog Steel picatinny rail, and I had to use a vice grip on the knob to hyper tighten it on there to accomplish it. My Atlas would come loose every single time I shot it, although I admittedly never took...
