    Defiance action new costs?!

Maybe I overpaid, but I spent +$200 on nitriding my last surgeon action I bought a few years ago. $1500 is for a bare action.

Piston conversion and appropriate buffer and spring

Did you try adjusting the amount of gas yet? I personally like a heavier BCG / buffer with full power loads. Lighter springs also seem to reduce reliability. I'd personally leave a standard spring and go for a heavy buffer. Also reduce the amount of gas (if you haven't already) if it seems...

Is 6.5 Creedmoor just not competitive anymore?

You should try a 20# 6.5! It’s actually not too bad.

Is 6.5 Creedmoor just not competitive anymore?

6.5 is in fact still competitive. The question is, are you competitive?

    .223 - 5.56

I went to the 80.5 in 2014 or so when the 80 smk were hard to find. Worked really well for me, a bit better than the non-pointed 80 smk, but had a narrow window jump wise where they printed tiny groups.

AXSR Extraction / Stiff Bolt Unlock Question

You shouldn’t have to do this, but you can polish the cocking ramp to smooth it out even more. I also use a little bit of grease, not oil, on the ramp. To me it sounds like the surface must be galled in some way, or an issue with the surface in general. Or possibly something binding with the...

AXSR Extraction / Stiff Bolt Unlock Question

Post a pic of the cocking ramp. Do you have any grease on that? Also pull the firing pin assembly and post a pic of what that looks like. AI's definitely have a break in period, and my AXSR definitely has a bit more bolt lift than the short action AT I have, but neither require excessive...

Firearms BNIB Colt LE901 16" 308 FDE w/ conversion kit and 6943 upper **RARE**

I ended up keeping it. Custom serial number, ordered direct from Colt Custom Shop, factory FDE makes it even more rare, along with sealed accessories and 5.56 conversion kit. I actually picked up a full spare parts kit for it well in case it ever needs rebuilding. I went ahead and paid the...

    .223 - 5.56

Tried the 85.5 berger at a few seating depths with AR Comp yesterday. Jumping .015 and 23.1 AR Comp got me 2800 fps SD 7.0 over 10 shots in a 26" bartlein 7T, and sub 1/2 moa accuracy at 300 yards. ZERO pressure signs. I have no doubt I could push it to 2900, but 2800 should be pretty mild...

    .223 - 5.56

Try jumping .040 with the 80.5. One of the only heavy berger bullets that like more jump. If you want to save some money and load dev effort and have even a slightly higher BC, try the Sierra 80 SMK. They are now pointed (well, as of like 2016/17 lol) and have a 3-4% better BC than the 80.5...

AXSA left hand models in the wild?

You can’t hesitate when they do show up in stock. Also you should buy spare parts for them when they show up for sale too as the left hand models really don’t get a lot of support. There were a bunch of LH ATs and AXs available a couple of years ago. All us lefties bought them all lol. And...

Are we using too much scope?

Magnification sells scopes to the general public, where actual optical performance is what sells scopes to competitors. Do both and you have a scope that reaches the broadest audience.

    6 MM Bbl.life ?

Acceptable accuracy is different for different people. For a guy that wants 1 moa at 100 yards, a Dasher barrel may go 5000+ rounds if loaded light. If you expect .2's at 600 yards, then you may only get 1500 rounds. Maybe your barrel won't even do .2's at 600 yards even when brand new, so...

Problem Child: Does good upper and lower receiver exist for 6.5Cm in Ar-10

The Rifle +2” is where it’s at when using slower powders for 6.5mm or 6mm. When AR10s were (briefly) getting popular for high power competition, guys were doing +3” or even +4” with the 243 win and longer 26” barrels.

    12.5" Pistol/SBR caliber choices

Unless you just want to maximize effective range in a 12" gun at all costs, with new brass, bullets, dies (or just different ammo), bolt, mags, then I'd stick with 5.56. 2x more energy doesn't mean 2x lethality. A couple tenths elevation at 300 yards is nothing. Steel still goes ding with a...
