Gunsmithing Savage bolt sticking after Lambeth bolt lift kit install

I don't know what all the bolt kit consists of. But I've ran into the stock screw being a little too tight can cause bolts to bind and not open. I don't think that's the case here since you can run it several times before it does it. What all is included in the bolt lift kit?

    Retro Rifles Barrel

I was curious about that very barrel too. I was looking for a new 10.5" 556 barrel with chrome lining on the cheaper side. Don't want to spend DD, FN CHF money for a 10.5" HD gun but I like chrome lined barrels. I came upon their site and am pondering buying one of their 10.3" CL barrels... I...

Budget AR-15 and AR-10 Barrel Options

Good call jsp556, I forgot about ARP, they do make great barrels. I've had their recon 16" 6.8 barrel but sold the upper. I have one of their 12.5" 6.8 barrels now. For the money they are top notch. They make one of the best 6.8 barrels out there. I would assume their 223 barrels are the same...

Budget AR-15 and AR-10 Barrel Options

Lol, there's always going to be one I guess. Here, imagine this: Every single person is different, both physically and mentally. As variable as the rifles we shoot, so are the shooters. I grew up shooting bolt guns, by that I mean bone stock Win M70's, Ruger M77's and R700's. In chamberings...

Budget AR-15 and AR-10 Barrel Options

I agree with watching the PX here on the site. You can find some great deals on lightly used and sometimes new components. I built a lot of my AR308 from parts I got here. I got a Seekins SP10 barrel, 18", 1:11.25, with ATC comp included for like $175 iirc... I picked up a JP enhanced bolt here...

    Colt FBI HRT build

I've heard the same thing from an acquaintance who would know. They aren't HRT but they do work with them from time to time. He's a gun guy and we were talking about them at the range when I had my 11.5" rig there. He said of the rifles he's seen they had standard profile barrels. You could see...

    Colt FBI HRT build

Agreed with lord of war619, the Geiselle block is the one you want. I have a sort of clone of the older HRT/SWAT with the 9" Troy Alpha rail... It just happened to turn out like the older HRT rig by accident. My barrel isn't Colt it's an Expo Arms chrome lined 11.5", 1:7, 5.56 chamber. Mine has...

    224 Valkyrie twist rate

Agreed with Shawn1492, I've chased accuracy with 95's in a 6.5 twist AR barrel. Don't get me wrong it is the best shooting AR I own. But if you want to go all out with the best components I wouldn't want to fight an AR while shooting them. I run 95smk and 88eld pretty much it. I do have 90gr...

Struggling with 1 MOA at 100 yrds- range report

This is something I've ran into several times with M-Lok rails especially... I've had the attachment screws hit as well as the little M-Lok nut itself. If your using a bipod and loading it much, it can touch even if it has clearance while shooting. Anytime I assemble an upper nowadays I check...

    Suggestions from anyone running a 7.5" 556...

I think I'm gonna be a guinea pig on this SA piston system... It seems to be just the ticket for what I'm wanting. It won't blow all that hot gas blasting off that pistol length gas system into my upper. It looks solid to me, I'm gonna order one after Christmas and try it out. I'm gonna run a...

    Suggestions from anyone running a 7.5" 556...

Yea I get all that, I have an 11.5" upper and it's a great upper. The 7.5" barrel plus the length of the Liberty can: 6.35" puts me at roughly 13.5" which is close to the same length as an 11.5" with flash hider, a little over... There's a purpose to this thing being compact as possible. I need...

    Suggestions from anyone running a 7.5" 556...

I got a really nice barrel in a trade here in the PX. It's a 7.5" 5.56 1:7 Pac Nor barrel. I know all the downsides to having a 7.5" 5.56, velocity drop, muzzle blast, etc... I'm going to build it anyway. The reason being I want to have as small of a footprint as possible with a can attached...

Long Range Precision AK and 9mm Adapters

AKs are hard to accurize. As was mentioned, they just weren't designed for that. For 308, I recommend a Molot VEPR. They are built a little heavier and they are nice guns. I had a 308 Super VEPR back in the day that was a really nice rifle. It had the long barrel, 23" or something like that...
