    One example in a gas block taper pin case, I'll usually start the drive with a stronger tapered pin punch to get it started then finish out with the cylindrical punch.

    just out of curiosity, check for wear on the hammer and if the firing pin protrusion allows you to ever get the fp thru before hammer strike. Doesn't look like the cartridge itself can be examined, and super glad you still have all your fingers and face!!!!

    Nope. The marks in the first pic are on the leade angle which moves up the land. You have a throat, which is just ahead of the case mouth, then an angle that breaks to the top of the land. Angle is the leade, which is cut by the throater or throat section of finish reamer. Whatever I see in...
