With spotting scopes and binos i always need to have the eye cups screwed all the way in to get my eye close...

    These things look awesome. These and the rings are tops of my options to try next time im buying mounts. A little wider ring spacing on 34mm would be cool though. Seems they are the narrowest of all tube diameters and I tend to avoid the supershort scope sillyness.

    I've seen Huntnful over on rokslide use a phoenix sled bipod for his load dev. Looks slick, not sure its better than just shooting off bags? Maybe a little more convenient 🤷‍♂️

    I have found throwing benchmark or 8028xbr still gets me SDs on par or better than the ball powders I've tried even if the charge weight variance is a little higher. If H335 and 332 meter as well or better they are probably great options.

    Rifle Scopes $2500 MSRP Limit (PRS Production Class)

    My NRL rifle stole the Kahles off my PRS rifle so I picked up a mint XRS3 G4p for $1k from the classifieds to backfill it. Certainly isn't top tier but I'm in no hurry to replace it. More than serviceable for a mediocre race gun shooter.

    Your old posts in this thread was a large part of me “trying” varget with the 135s. I put trying in quotes because all I did was load 10 at each of the 2 charge weights and leave the seating die where it was for the h4350 load.

    Can always add freebore.. Good question though. Just a WAG based on my typical 140hybrid loads jumping around 50 thou in typical 0.16X freebore chambers, i'd guess you'll have bearing end of bullet bearing surface pretty close to neck shoulder junction while touching lands with a 153 lrht.

    I've had similar bolt lift problems on rifles with the XC but the same problems happen with other cans too, sico Scythe ti for one. Seemed especially prevalent in MN winter months shooting into a headwind. Happened with a variety of different loads including moderate factory ammo.

    Saw where Tyler Freel of Outdoor life mentioned something like 7 of 8 test rifles they've received have stiff bolt lift and poor primary extraction. Haven't seen anything promising about reloadability. Seems like a dud thus far.

    The thing is nothing someone is going to carry around the mountains will reliably "anchor" elk unless you hit CNS. I've only seen elk killed with 7mms, 30s, and 338s. But none of them did anything special. Put it in the lungs, they go a little ways and fall over. Pretty similar to broadheads...
