    Remington 700 Failure to Fire

I have an experiment idea to try. Seat a bullet long in an empty case so that the bolt does the final seating. Then try the trigger. I'm wondering if the loaded cartridge is putting enough force back into the bolt to where the cocking piece is engaging the top sear in the trigger more.

    Rounds not chambering

Neck thickness should not have changed much, if any. I wonder what is causing the neck opening to get expanded. What is the length of the cases you haven't loaded, but have been resized? If the case length is longer than the chamber I would suspect that you could chamber an empty case...

    Rounds not chambering

One area that I'm wondering about is the edge/mouth of the case neck looking expanded. If it is actually a larger diameter than the case neck then it would be possible to chamber the case without the bullet and then have difficulty chambering with the bullet.

    Remington 700 Failure to Fire

In your description of the firing pin remaining back when you pull the trigger, if it's not moving at all I'd think it is due to the trigger. When you disassembled the bolt did you remove the firing pin from the cocking piece and shroud? If so, did you try running the firing pin into the...

Advice needed regarding the value of a Remington 700 5R .308 barreled action.

I'd start out at $1000 for the package. As a non-FFL individual, the only way you can ship it is to an FFL and you have to use USPS. UPS and FedEx won't ship a rifle for an individual.

    Brass life and inspection

I guess I should have mentioned that what I was suggesting was with Lapua brass. Thanks for clarifying. I have had the same, or worse, experiences with Hornady brass as you have.

    .308 how accurate?

Your load performance will depend more on what the rifle likes. Here's an example of a 308 Win I've been developing a load for. It has taken me 100+ rounds to get to this point. My next trip out to the range will be to see if I can repeat anywhere close to this. (the picture is a 3-shot group...

    Brass life and inspection

If your chamber is pretty tight and if the resizing die can minimally resize the case you could get 15 to 20 cycles out of a piece of brass. Do you know that you don't want to push the shoulder back more than needed? ( Like 0.002" ) For more standard dimensions of chambers and reloading dies...

AI AT versions question MK3 vs. 2.0?

Here's one that might work for you: https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1079447637 Give Mile High Shooting Accessories a call. They might remove it from the auction and sell it to you.

AI AT versions question MK3 vs. 2.0?

Your identifiers don't line up with the AI-AT rifle. The AT rifle is not a thumb hole stock although there have been conversion kits to make it a thumbhole. Do you have pictures or descriptions of what you're looking at?

OCW Guys… help me read these!

If your "velocity node/lowest SD" method works for you, go for it. I've abandoned the practice because of inconsistent results. If you have some time watch this video:

Have you figured out how you're going to stack 22-250 cases in a magazine?

    Bergara Action Barrel Replacement

I don't know of anyone offering a prefit barrel for a Bergara. You have to purchase a barrel and then have a gunsmith install the barrel onto your action.

    Pre-fit barrel alignment

This probably doesn't apply but I'll throw it out there just in case. I bought a benchrest rifle off a guy and at some point realized the scope windage was a few clicks off one of the extreme endpoints. To make a long story short, it was the two-piece rings that were the problem.

    Brass neck after firing

As long as the fired case neck diameter is larger than the loaded cartridge it's fine.
