    Seating question

Have you tried slowly dropping the powder into the case? Or used a long drop tube? You might be able to get the powder to settle more. If you're already doing that then the bullet is pushing on some firm

Man, when I could actually pick this up I'm sitting pretty good for these components.

1st group after bore sight/zeroing scope

That's not a horrible group if that was at 100 yards. First thing I would suggest is using better ammo. Second thing is make yourself a could sandbags if you don't want to spend the money on some. You can use old blue jean legs or socks to fill. You can use dry dirt instead of sand...

Not another gun wont shoot thread.

Could you try a mate's bolt out of their Howa? You would need to check headspace with a go gauge first.

    Seating question

It sounds to me like there is something funky with the brass. I've used the Imperial dry neck lube in the past with good results. Is the brass all the same manufacturer and lot? Fired the same number times?

    I'm stumped...bolt won't close

When I saw that my thought was the copper from the bullet jacket is getting scraped off by the carbon.

    I'm stumped...bolt won't close

Ain't that the truth! I use Hornady match ammo as well as my hand crafted loads and Hornady never fails to have a surprise .

    I'm stumped...bolt won't close

Oh, yeah, brain fart. 🤪. For 6.5mm it would actually be 0.2645". Basically 0.0005" more than the ideal diameter on 0.264" Thanks for pointing that out.

    I'm stumped...bolt won't close

The Creedmoor chamber freebore diameter is spec'd at 0.2435". So, if the new bullet is 0.2435" or greater you could have interference fit. Another possibility is the carbon ring buildup is aggravating the small-ish freebore diameter.

Reloading Application to Document the Reloading Process

Since there isn't a bullet proof process cast in stone, I doubt there is an app that follows it.

    Horizontal sway

I hate to say it, but it's you. I can relate from personal experience. What seemed to help me is to first set up the gun on the bags pointing at the target. Then insert your RELAXED self behind the rifle. My grip is just a little pressure straight back with whatever part of my fingers are...

Using Tape on the back of a loaded round to check or set headspace. . . .

Which cartridge names are you seeing the most? I'm wondering if they are ones that had a disconnect between the SAAMI cartridge drawing and chamber drawing.

Reloading to accuracy on bolt action

Well, it depends on a lot of variables but if you have a good barrel on a good rifle, you should be able to get 1/2" at 100 yds or better. On one of my rifles I was working up a load for, everything I tried on it was less than 1" at 100 yards. My latest testing experiment looks like I found...
