    You need to try both or you will never know. The 215 has a lower form factor than the 230 OTM so if they both tuned in your rifle at the highest node, chances are the 215 would have a slight advantage because it's BC to weight ratio is better. You can guess and look at numbers all day long...

    300 Norma Mag

    For me, load development encompasses a lot more than it should, but I'm anal. I'm trying different powders, bullets, primers and seating depth at 100 and then verifying at 600 yards, and I lose sleep if I don't think I've exhausted all the potential into the load. But that's just me.

    I got out of the 300 Norma and N570 because I started to care about barrel life. I don't need to spend 200 rds breaking in a barrel before it speeds up to maybe get another 500-600 rds out of it, only to start the process all over again.

    Here is some more real world data for anyone who gives a shit. Using the same load of H4895 in temperatures ranging from 2 degrees to 90 degrees, I have seen maybe a 5 fps difference in velocity.

    Exactly. I don't spit shine a barrel, clean a .308 tube every 200-300 rds, and I never break out a bore scope unless something drastic has changed on target. It's dirty again after the 1st shot and I'm putting 7-8 rds through it to foul it before I shoot anything meaningful on target anyway...
