The K328i is more a mid-size than compact but it's still small enough for what it's going on. I just don't want to shoot myself in the foot thinking one of the 20X scopes is so optically superior that I won't miss the extra 8X that the Kahles provides.
So as the title suggests, I need a compact scope and the only one I've ever owned are several NF 4-16x42's, which is not one of the scopes I will be considering due to the minimum magnification of 20X. Above all else the most important part of this decision is the GLASS.
Scopes on the short...
No one ever seems to talk about the NF 4-16x50 SFP. It certainly isn't great at anything but down low at 4X that reticle is very easy on the eyes. Had no trouble using it at a mile on a 7 SAUM after I sold the gas gun it was originally on. It's quite affordable and has the bomb proof...
It's a shorter barrel so it may need a faster powder than Retumbo. And If I can get 2700-2750 out of it, I'll be happy. If what I have on hand doesn't give me what I want, that will be the next option.
That sucks. Mine were all good to go. I also started with S&B during that time and completely migrated over to them before backing away and getting into NF.
I believe N565 was the direct result of what VV liked about N560 and N570 and tried to combine those attributes into a more stable powder for military applications. I have seen less speed and more consistency with it then N570,
Awesome, will look forward to the review. I'm not a tree reticle fan, so the MIL-C and P5F are both on the list and I've probably had more NF scopes than all others combined so I wouldn't hesitate to grab one, but I've had my share of Schmidt's as well so will be interesting decision for sure.
Ah, so the US version still has a slight advantage except at the very top. Now just need to figure out which one is easier to get behind.
Thanks for the link.
So is there a consensus on whether or not this scope is worth a look over the NF 7-35? I will be in the market soon for something on this level and price range.
Also, what is the difference in FOV between the European scopes and US versions? Website just lists one FOV.
Well shit, that was a damn fine scope back in the day. Wish I had held on to my 3.2-17x44 and 1.8-10x44. Other than S&B they were the top tier of their time. And Becky at USO was as good as it got for customer service. Wish they hadn't disappeared.
