    Advancements in bullet design...

Unfortunately these are no longer in production because I wanted to shoot them on radar but my guess is very high drag variability and dynamic instability once the trajectory arcs over and starts seeing high AoA

    Advancements in bullet design...

TLDR: Most things that you do to reduce drag cause accuracy issues either out of the gate or down range. Manufacturing slowly gets better and better and allows us to "get away with" more and still have the bullets shoot but that projectile would be extremely erratic for a number of reasons...

6mm ARC for 1k yards build

In my experience the dispersion factor isn't greatly different between the large and small frame systems. That's the primary limiting factor IMO. The 6 ARC with comparable barrel length and 105-110gr bullets can achieve trajectory that's pretty much equivalent to 6.5 Creedmoor 140gr. 6mm...

6mm ARC for 1k yards build

First of all, semi auto and 1000yd is not two things that I typically associate. The flexible POI issues, gas system tuning, general finicky behavior in the world of semi-auto dispersion... You will experience success in spurts. That being said, I'd look at a 20-26" barrel. The Geissele 20"...

    Proof Research RMA Turnaround time?

Recently sent in a 22 ARC barrel for the barrel extension recall and it took maybe 2 weeks all told (shipping both ways included).

    Federal does it again 😅

Certainly could. As can excessive headspace where you create an "impact" with the case head and bolt face as the head blows backwards to the bolt.

    SRP vs LRP

We've done the SRP vs. LRP test several times in a few cartridges and it's gone both ways and tied as to which is better. It seems very circumstantial-- For sure depends on the barrel and load used and maybe even down to the lot of primers used. On the extreme ends, however, too much primer...

    Dynamic Stability

If you can clock the eccentricity to the same angle and to the same magnitude it will produce surprisingly consistent results. Those impacts, however, will be deviated from non-eccentric shots. If you don't clock them to the same orientation but have the same magnitude you will get a donut...

    Federal does it again 😅

Brass is on a sliding scale for cold work. Cold work determines the hardness and strength of the head. There is also quite a bit of variation in internal shape on various sizes/mfgs. of cases so there's a bit of change in the stress/strain profile based on that, too... Having said that, case...

    Federal does it again 😅

We don't have a magic orb that will tell us what the supply availability of imported powders will be in the future. It's very unfortunate and definitely a lesson learned but hardly "deceptive". If we could reliably get RL-26 in sufficient quantities, it'd be in every 7 PRC round we load.

    Hornady 76g a tip

It's a bit of a conundrum. We've got the 90gr A-tip which fits in the 22 ARC really well. Then for what it is, honestly having 75gr, 80gr, and 88gr ELD-Ms, it might be difficult to fit in another A-tip that has a significant performance gap between them... It's certainly something we will...

    Hornady 76g a tip

I don't necessarily disagree... But I also thought the .350 Legend was DOA and here we are still pumping it out.

    Hornady 76g a tip

We did the 62gr ELD-VT for the 22 ARC and there's a pile of angry people because it's not magazine capable in 5.56 AR-15's. Do a 76gr A-tip that fits the AR-15 and people are angry it's not a higher BC. :) I get it. I designed this one and did what I could to get BC up there but you're stuck...

    Hornadys new ELD VT

It's going to be barrel-to-barrel dependent. I pretty much seat everything at .020-.060 if I can and don't mess with seating depth. I have seen a few instances where it made a significant difference but in most of my barrels that I've tested it I don't see dramatic swings in performance. I've...

    Hornadys new ELD VT

In .308? H4895 (if you have or can find it), Varget, or StaBall Match would be my first three tries. I'm sure IMR 4895 and 4064 are worth looking at, too. I doubt we'll do a factory .308 load because it'd end up being over SAAMI max COAL. I'm pushing for it to replace the 168 Amax in our M1...

    Hornadys new ELD VT

Yeah that's a known issue should be fixed going forward. Typo. I don't remember off hand which is correct but just off the fact that G7 is usually half G1 it's probably .226.

    The Cartridge Conundrum

From 22 to 7mm... Maybe 6.5mm... You can't really go wrong. If you can get over 2600fps and a bullet with a G7 BC in the .260+ ballpark (give or take any of that) it's on a sliding scale of trajectory and wind drift and the deciding factor is usually the shooter and their ability to perceive...

    The Cartridge Conundrum

I've been shooting 6 ARC in a bolt gun for several years now. It does everything the Dasher/BR family does with less powder and less recoil. I got 2nd place in gas gun PRS last year for the season and have a few top 10 and several top 20 finishes in Open with a bolt gun. The cartridge isn't...

Replicate Hornady American Gunner 6.5 Creedmoor 140 grain BTHP

H4350 or Hybrid 100v I believe were the two main powders used in that load.
