    Change Barrel

I have a Criterion barrel on my Savage and it is at least equal in accuracy to my Rock Creek and Bartlein barrels. If everything else is right with your action and set up, you will be astounded by the accuracy that it produces.

    Anyone got $17,000 for a Remington 700 M24E1 XM2010?

Wich means that they were probably taken to the cleaners on it and now want to pass their stupidity on to a new victim.

Manners New Elite 2.5lb Folding Stock

Just another reason why, in my opinion, Manners has surpassed McMillan. They continue to push the enevelpe and develope new products like no other stock company out there.

New shooter seeks advice on which model Savage

For starting out, the 308 is ideal for a beginner. The ammo or loading components are plentiful. Dont worry about what he had to say just yet. At this point, it wont be the cartridge that is holding you back. At this point, you will need lots of practice to move further up the learning curve...

New shooter seeks advice on which model Savage

The Savage reference above is certainly a good entry level rifle into LR shooting. My only real bitch with Savages is that their stocks are just pure tupperware crap, and yest that includes the Accustocks. They have a model that comes with a McMillan stock standard and would be an excellent...

Looking to start a new project!

I have 2 rifles in 260 Remington and love them both. Make life much easier at those ranges. 260 Rem and 6.5 Creedmore are ballistic twins. If you are reliant upon factory loaded ammo then the CM is probably the better choice. I handloand and have multiple rifles chambered in 308 based cases so...

    Jewell triggers are pussies

I have had two of them. One went away when the rifle was sold. I put a Timney on my FN 260 Build and the more I use it, the more I began to like it. The Timney has a much cleaner break than the Jewells. While they can be adjusted for a very light release, they just have a vague, mush feel to...

What specifically do people not like about AI stocks?

This subject is no different than any other. Different people have different likes and dislikes. I have a thumbhole AICS. I love it and dont put my thumb through the hole, ever. I love the adjustability of the stock. Yes, I have to fold the stock to clean the bore but I just put my Triad wedge...

    Savage Bolt Improvement

By itself, it isnt a huge difference but it does smooth out the operation. The timing job, longer bold handle, and lift kit will do wonders for it.

    Savage Bolt Improvement

Kevin Rahill for the bolt lift kit AND the true & time. Send your rifle to Moreo at your own peril. Lots of all too true horror stories about SSS. Kevin is a great guy to deal with that keeps his word. That cannot be said for SSS.

    .260 "replacement" and cases "manufacturing"

I built a 260 on a CBI barrel from NSS and it is extremely accurate. At least as accurate as my Bartlein and Rock Creek barrels. You can form your brass by necking up 243 or necking down 7mm08 brass. It can be done from a 308 parent case but it is best if you do it in two steps, first to 7mm...

    Fn made model 70

The only thing that Winchester/FN lost to Remington is the number of aftermarket parts available, and that is good for Remington because they certainly need it. The M-70 action is superior to the 700 in every meaningful way. I wont even consider even a expensive custom copy of a 700 over the...

Accuracy International Vs Custom for 6.5 Creedmoor

Forgetting the OP original question. From my perspective, I wish I had just bit the bullet and purchased an AI when I got started. I have been through three different custom rifles. I would have saved one hell of a lot of money and had a better, more reliable rifle from the start.
