Same price, which choice: WOA 16” SPR vs Criterion Hybrid

Nah. I'm typically an Intermediate type of guy but was feeling a little subconscious lately. In my defense, I also went Carbine +1 on a 10.3" Bartlein (or Craddock did).... No doubt it is a soft shooting rifle. Hard to describe if you haven't run one. I was aware you like a long gas system....

Same price, which choice: WOA 16” SPR vs Criterion Hybrid

This particular version came back in stock from Criterion a few weeks back and I ordered one. I've only shot it twice (3 times in about an hour) and it started out shooting under a minute. 77 SMK, 24.2 Re15, CCI 450, and Winchester brass (after the first 100 rounds) shoots .750" for 5 off of a...

    Primer blowout

I wouldn't get rid of the primers personally, I just wouldn't use them for that cartridge at that level. I never have purchased any #41's as I use 450's, 7 1/2's, or my final 5k of Wolf SRM's for "high pressure" loads. I didn't notice if it was mentioned, but I would check the firing pin tip...

    Bolt carrier for precision AR-15

I could not say whether a "larger" bolt carrier makes a difference in accuracy but I use the fatties in everything I build. Preferably a YM National Match but have 4 or 5 JP FMOS carriers and a Lantac or 2. I am not 100% positive, but I also have a Les Baer 6.5 Grendel and his carrier is...

300 WM Brass with circle on brass below shoulder- cause?

WB300 is correct. I bought some Lapua 30-06 years back that was factory ammo used for pressure testing (not proof loads). Still have it and use it.

Maggie’s Funny & awesome pics, vids and memes thread (work safe, no nudity)

I had to do a double reply because the pic didn't show in the one above. This looks just like a store going up in my area.

    6.5 Grendel barrel suggestions

I would like to say that might work, but he would just forget it. Youngish adult male with other things on his mind and living on his own. He mainly hunts so a piece or two at a time is lost. That is why I load his ammo with Hornady brass...

    6.5 Grendel barrel suggestions

I didn't pack the Xero the day I had my son zero his new upper with the Rainier UM barrel so I don't know the numbers. The target seemed to enjoy the Hornady 123SST ammo though. I have many hundreds of Lapua and AA 6.5 Grendel brass but my son won't get any of that because he never police's his...

    6.5 Grendel

My Proof is a 20" and I use a Rexus bolt, but 31 - 31.3 grains of LeverRevolution, 450, Lapua/AA brass, and a 120 SMK, 123 SMK, or a 123 grain SST shoot very well. That load works for me out of 3 different barrels I've used it in. Not a light load. The Sierra 120 grain GameChanger is still...

    Bullet for .223 Ackley Improved?

Best luck I've had is with 80 grain VLD, 80 grain Fullbore, and 82 grain HPBT. I stuck with Varget, CCI 450, and Lapua Brass in mine. 26" Bartlein 4G 1-7. LRI throated mine at .075" so it doesn't have long throat. I shoot the 80 VLD jammed .010" and the other 2 jumped .020".

    6.5 Grendel barrel suggestions

My RTR 18" was delivered today. I probably will get around to installing it tomorrow or Saturday. I typically will use a cratex cone on a few places in the barrel extension so the rifle is nicer to the brass and I also shim the barrel into the upper. I will bore scope the RTR for the hell of it...

    30-06 Rem 721

58 grains of H4350, 165 grain SGK, Fed 210 (or CCI, Rem, Win), ideally seated .025" off of jam. However, that seating depth can be to long depending on the leade being a country mile out. This is just a good load for me across 4 different 30-06's. My guess is your rifle's barrel has some...

Filling a case with powder using a long copper tube

Oh no, we can make it much more tedious. In my defense, my Drop Tube Apparatus (DTA) was made for black powder only. Since the rifles are beauties I figured the DTA might as well be eye catching too. Civilized even. I don't shoot my BPCR's enough anymore. Smokeless is dropped through a 6"...

Them ain't coonasses, them trailer trash. Crestview was only some better. Of course that was the late 80's.

Filling a case with powder using a long copper tube

I built a stand out of some nice oak to hold my 30" drop tube. Mine is used for black powder only. With a nice slow and consistent pour, I put 80 grains of 1.5F in a fireformed Starline 45/70 case. If I were to try that with a 6" drop tube/funnel, about 5 grains would stay in the funnel and dump...

    Ultrasonic solution for brass

Lemishine added to the mix tends to remove more of the darker streaks from the brass for me. I rarely use ultra sonic anymore though.

    berger 73gr handloads (5.56)

Glad that it was a help. In that range (powder charge) I have always had good results.
