SUBSONIC 300 BlACKOUT 1:8 TWIST RATE

As everyone else has replied, a 1-8" will stabilize a 220. I just started playing with subs a couple months back and my 10.5" 1-8" will stabilize a 208 HPBT or a 220 SMK subsonic very nicely. A 190 SubX is just as nice.

I think I found my .223 Rem load

I've had good luck loading long with 223. Of course using a standard length magazine (AR's) only allows what it allows. Bought a PRI 10 rounder and modified the front. Fun to experiment with and I have some good loads that are as long as the mag well will allow. This a heavy bullet only thing...

    Maggie’s Motivational Pic Thread v2.0 - - New Rules - See Post #1

I wasn't a fan of lamb until I had chops prepared something like this. I also enjoy the roasted carrots. Looks like a home run. I saw your pic of the chop after cutting and agree that a minute or two longer, but then again, maybe not. Roasted beets is another good choice.... You've given me...

    Neck only sizing Question

I personally like anything with Forster on it and am familiar with the mention sizing die. As far as being competitive, those F Class rifles can be works of art and cost like art too. Belly benchrest (not an insult).

    Neck only sizing Question

Gunny, I would take a SWAG that you separate the brass (didn't read that but probably missed it) so that's not a huge concern. I've played with Wilson hand dies and went back to FL sizing. I use FL bushing dies (Redding, Wilson's new versions, and Whidden) and won't go back to neck only. My...

Overthinking it? Upper receiver selection choice for accurized SPR build (not a match rifle)

Well the Craddock barrel is a Bartlein 11" 223 from their Signature Series I believe they call it. It is one sweet shooting barrel. It's still relatively new (less than 300 rounds) but it shoots any of the heavies great, cleans easy, and the chamber looks very nice and smooth. I have 2 Rainier...

Overthinking it? Upper receiver selection choice for accurized SPR build (not a match rifle)

If thermal fit is what you want, any upper can work. If you want a specific configuration in an upper and the extension just slides in sloppy, you can always shim it with some SS stock. I researched it a bit some time back and read some articles by Joe Carlos detailing how he did it. It's rather...

NOE is the best bullet mold company

I use his expanders for all of the usual suspects (32, 357, 44, 45, and lately 300 BO). He expanded on the M Die expanders and made a better product. I don't use any of his molds as all of mine are either MP Molds, Accurate Molds, or custom BPCR molds.

    Forster Co-Ax Reloading Press Upgrade

I've used the Inline Fabrication links for years and have grown used to the extra room they provide. The one's Forster make look to be a better mousetrap with the "stops" that my Inline Frabrication links don't have. Welp, there goes another $50ish. Went to Inline Fabrication's website and I...

    Vibratory Tumbler Recommendations

I've used my Ultra Vibe for over 10 years. Mine is the industrial version (don't really know the difference and it doesn't matter to me) and it is quiet compared to the others I've owned over the years and it is fast. These things are heavy duty but expensive (what isn't). FWIW, mine was...

6.5 x 47 lapua brass small flash hole

Not that I am aware of. I pulled the decapping pin from the die, chucked it up and turned in down until it would fit. Now it does all sizes of flash holes. My Forster FL die did come with 2 pins. 1 was the small size.

Unusual request for a phone consultation

OK. I have the exact same die set and it would not bump the shoulder enough either. I could get it to "kiss" the shoulder but no set back. I don't disagree with sending the die back to shave some off, but with a little bit of time (plus a hard level surface and a steady hand), you can do this...

    6.5x47 Lapua neck tension question

I would suggest that you chamfer all of your cases when new or from once fired factory ammo. It is one of the steps I do to ALL new cases (and to all freshly trimmed cases). It is just something you have to do. I bet why you are feeling the bullets seating hard is because you have a sharp edge...

6.5X284 Norma with 140g Berger VLD

Not the same case, but I have 2 6.5 Creedmoor's, #1 with a Brux 1-8.5" and #2 with an Obermeyer 1-8.4", and they will both shoot the 140 VLD extremely well. To 600 yards at least...... I am running them around 2825 fps FWIW.

    Horizontal stringing

Here is a nugget of hard won experience, I suspect. Have ruled out equipment, shooter technique, and good numbers on chrono, I start playing with seating depth. While I don't compete (with anyone but me that is), I have some very good equipment and an extremely high regard for accuracy...

How often should I change my tumbler media?

Chunk out the Brass-O. Contains ammonia and not really suited for tumbling media. Either get a dedicated polish such as Frankford Arsenal, RCBS, etc, or use some Nu Finish car polish (Walmart). It won't harm the brass and it does make your media work much faster with a more satisfactory result...

20" 5R and 168 Hybrids...... Anyone running this pill?

My 308 (Gradous built Surgeon, Krieger 1-10 @ 24" truck axle, Jewell, McM A5, Badger M4) does like the 168 Hybrid, but not jumping. Thought for a while that I had purchased some very expensive fouling bullets. I jammed them .015", and something magical happened. The load is 43 grs H4895, Lapua...

    6.5mm Creedmoor vs 6.5mmx47 vs .260 Rem

Not a problem to me, and you were/are not wasting band width. Nevertheless, there are a lot of this same type of question already discussed and the pro's and con's are out there. The three SA cartridges asked about are arguably the three most popular cartridges at this time and any precision...
