    Gunsmithing Crescent customs updates?

Love him like a brother, and he does great work, but if you want it fast you may be a little disappointed. Of course, I’ve never told him “I need this done Yesterday”, so I don’t complain. These days, I have more rifles than I can shoot, and dont shoot as many matches as I used to so STAT...

Terry Cross Still accept custom stock orders?

Terry is as fine as they come, but he is a small shop and has a very high work load with LE jobs. I‘ve known him a long time, and he is one of the few in the industry I am confident will not F anyone over. stay patient and keep trying. Love the Sentinel, and he put years of work into...

Sad News, The Passing of Frank Desomma

Sad indeed......always seemed a super guy and as you say gave a ton of support for matches..... of course Frank was standing in disbelief as that joke went down. He couldn’t bring himself to tell him to hug and kiss the rifle. Such memories Doc

When PRS (or the equivalent) first began

The 7WSM was coming into the match scene 09ish where I was. Got big for awhile with the 180 Berger- it was the S#*t. I got in a year later and George built it. Great cartridge but barrel life and recoil weren’t ideal once round count/speed started picking up. I recall almost watching my throat...

When PRS (or the equivalent) first began

Terry was crushing us all no matter the caliber. We even did a few factory 308 only matches (The CoreBon , etc).....leaderboard didn’t change much. You’d hate him, but he’s such a nice guy. He did love that 260. Of course there was Stan the Man with is AWM 300WM who was tough to beat too. When...

Firearms SPF: Accuracy International AWM Package

Shoot me a PM about the 338 barrel/bolt/mag. Just picked up a AWM myself and it needs a 338 barrel. Was about to look at spinning up a new one, but this would be faster and original. Doc

    Hornady Factory Ammo

This may have changed in the last few years, but their Superformance was not known for producing great results from gas guns. There was much discussion here when it first came out, with Rob01 and some of the other at-the-time Hornady sponsored shooters explaining why it was a legit trend of less...

    Action/Bolt Lifespan

If I recall correctly, he once broke a pin on the bolt stop. In the 12 years I’ve known him, that’s the only thing I’ve heard him mention having to replace when this topic comes up- and it comes up fairly often in classes.

    Accuracy International Picture Thread

Of course doing things like that prompted one of his long time smith friends to bring him a barrel vise..... Gotta love Jacob’s no BS approach to things.

Maggie’s What guns have you purchased due to a movie, TV show or other

Nice Busse in the fence holding it up too. Love my TGs. Thought the Sharps were a cute overrated idea until I rang baby buffalo sized steel at a Grand with one after a match and then I was in love. .....and the Gargoyles, great lenses. Wore them for years, and they saved the vision of 2...

Training Courses Vapor Trail Tactical: Sean Little

But did he have his “helmuuuuuuut”? Little is good people. One of the first guys I shot with at an RO match....god, more than a decade ago now.

    Maggie’s Motivational Pic Thread v2.0 - - New Rules - See Post #1

Yep, same time frame. There was a resurgence of sanctioned matches there for awhile after all that ,and I went back and shot a few matches. There were some good guys there, but the tremendous depth of knowledge and experience that used to show up was lost. Good ol MSgt loaned me gear for my...

    Maggie’s Socially UNacceptable Humor

Hell, Terry, my 10 year old grabbed and charged the nearby 9mm quiet SBR and was about to drill the 6 footer that cruised over to our fishing spot the other day. Barely stopped him from drilling him in time to explain the need for a license. He felt quite cheated...... Doc

Odds on beer can 555 yards, cold bore.

Jacob Bynum of Rifles Only used to do the Dos Equis challenge as a match stage. Bottle of Dos Equis sitting on the top of a 4x4, shooter prone at 400. One shot to hit it. If you hit it, you get a case of beer. If I recall, there were 11 or so hits average, out of 70-90 people.

Suppressors Has anyone ever had an NFA item lost in shipping?

Had a surefire can lost during return for service years ago. Shipping company did not initially understand the gravity of the issue and their initial response was to call it “lost” and issue a check for replacement. Of course they were kindly informed such an item needs to be found. Several on...

This one didn’t quite have the angle Jacob’s did, and the stand in photographer didn’t want to repel down the rock face to get level with me.
