Powder other than H4350 for 20" 6.5 Creed?

RL-17 at 40.4 gns around -2700 fps 24" barrel 140 gn bullets. Superformance at 44 gns, around -2700 fps 24"barrel 140 gn bullets. These are my alternates to H4350. I searched these out because when I started reloading a year ago, I could not get H4350. Now, I don't need to, though I have...

    Table size?

Suggestion: Mark off that 2x3 space on the floor. Then put the stuff you want to use to do your reloading there and see. I have a 2x4 foot bench. Wish it was 3x6. :) lg

    How many different bullets?

I'm in the one bullet , one powder, crowd. But, I've worked up loads using two other powders and three other bullets. I did this in the event that I could not buy my favorite bullet or powder (out of stock situations) , I'd have alternatives that shoot just as good.

    6.5 ammo

+1 for the 143s, my rifle liked those. While back I bought a few boxes of Winchester 6.5CM 140 Match BTHP (black box with red lettering) because they were on sale at 21 per box and they shot straight also. FWIW, lg

Rifle Scopes Mid-price Precision Rifle scopes

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the listed scopes there. One of the scopes I own is on your list. That's the Vortex Gen 1 Razor HD 5-20x50. Currently prices at 1600/1700 (?) at Optics Planet. So it is in your budget. I've peered thru the SWFA 10x and the Vortex HD glass , to my...

Simple fix for loose primer pockets...

I'm new to reloading but here is my thinking from what I have learned face to face and from reading about reloading. If this were me, I'd know I had an over pressure problem showing not just one sign but two signs of high pressure. So, I know I have a case, brass, damaged by pressure. I also...

Received my Forster Ultra Micrometer Seating die a couple days ago and used it to load up some cartridges. I followed the directions and cleaned it. I also successfully test dropped the four bullets I load with down its throat and all went thru. I am sorry I did not photograph it. The...

    Cataract Surgery Stupid Question

+1 for having it done. In 2013 I had both done a month apart. My doc reco'd doing one for near and one for far. Surgeries were a piece of cake. No trouble with using my scopes, just adjust their diopter to my shooting eye. I do, after 4 years wear +2 diopter chearter glasses when I need to...

    Gunsmithing Ruger RPR 6.5 CM

I was in a nice thread earlier with a fellow RPR owner. Who came up with a COAL in the low 2.9s. He was using a Berger Hybrid 140. The longest COAL I've measured was around 2.86-8 ish, using a Nosler 140 RDF. Both are long sleek bullets. Another thing we had in common was our CBTOs which...

Rifle Scopes Army selects Sig Tango 6

Good points Strykervet. I'm prior military. Long time ago. In the land of the beloved little yellow people. OK. I was at a great shooting facility owned by a retired Army Top. He told me that today, the grunts quality on their rifles and learn their manual of arms. But requalify using...

2.935 oal for 6.5cm sound correct???

And you for yours, I picked up on a couple things. And am already on accurateshooters. Comment there under 'LGKLAS'. Totally agree with you on that forum! And the last rifle forum I am on is 6.5 Creedmoor, under 'lg65cmsd'. Good members there too. And specific to our caliber. As far as...

Which of these 3 bullets for long range 6.5?

I think it is great you have three bullets you've found loads for that shoot that well. To me that means you will always be able to buy at least one of them and be able to load and shoot. I'd load up some more of all three and see how they actually do at the distance you are going to shoot...

2.935 oal for 6.5cm sound correct???

That''s a wow in my book. I'm doing okay with mine. I've got a couple loads where all the bullets in the group are touching at 100. Mine shoots good. I've only owned my RPR since this early spring and started reloading with my army buddy in AZ last January. He owns an RPR in 308, so when I...
