    Why are all scope reticles black?

    Reticles that aren't glass etched were actually nickel foil that was laser cut. They appear black because it's shadowed by the incoming light. Shine a flashlight into the eyepiece and look inside. You will see it's actually silver.

    Don't. They're loud, clunky, cheaply built. The ones I've seen that were traded in at my work, the previous owners hated them, and the new owners also don't keep them long. They've all been low mileage. And unless you live in a major Metropolitan area, there are no dealers for warranty/service.

    I had Bushnell tell me that the lifetime warranty of a product was expired. I'll never buy from them again. Customer service was complete trash. The only companies that were worse are Beretta and Savage.

    You bought a Savage and expect quality? All of their barrels look like that. Sure, they can shoot good groups, it's the other issues like short chambers, forgetting to throat the barrel, feeding, extracting, shitty triggers, poor customer service (still better than Tikka).

    I'm not OCD, but I've done the same when I had to remove material to clear a Tubb T7T trigger. And inserting magazines will eventually remove anodizing. Heck, even my scopes have some sharpie on them to somewhat hide scratches that went through anodizing.
