    What optics for a Colt M16A1 carbine circa late 19

    I'm getting a Colt M16A1 full-auto carbine ( model 653 )in the 9.5 million serial number range.I'm guessing that it's late 1970's. It has the fixed carry handle with hole for attachments. Can anyone suggest a period appropriate optic, military style, for this rig?
