    Gunsmithing barrel bedding: 2'' to far? pre-64 Target i

    Found a lead on a Model 70 Target in 300 H&H mag. I haven't contacted the seller yet, but the ad says: "Note: barrel is bedded for the 2 inches closest to the receiver. The rest is free floating" Is that to far or ok for that caliber? Is that good/bad? Should this rifle with that mod still...
