    HELP please!!

    i bought a savage fxp3 hunting package and im wondering it doesnt have a heavy barrel on it..is this really necessary for distances up to 1000yds? money is sort of an option but any upgrades or suggestions to help me out would be greatly appreciated. thanks guys
