    Gunsmithing Broken Sling stud fix?

    rifle has a synthetic stock with a molded in sling swivel. I was shooting off my bipod the other week and the plastic swivel snapped in half. Can I just drill a hole in the stock for one of the screw in metal studs? I don't really feel like dealing with remington and shipping it around.
