    Is 175 smk better than 168 Amax?

    I have sierra infinity ballistic software. ANd it seems the hornady 168 amax bullets have better trajectory and about the same wind drift as the 175 smk's. Anybody compare the two side by side out to like 800 to 1k? I purposely bought the 175's but am wondering more about the 168 amaxs now...

    1st test loads with 175 smk's, anybody object

    my 1st batch for .308, 175 smk's are as follows: varget, br2 primers, federal once fired brass. 41.5, 42, 42.5, 43, 43.5, 44, 44.5 coal is 2.805 anybody object to this?? Thanks

    sierra told me this, is it true?

    when i talked to sierra today, they said that if you try to seat out to far you will loose neck tension, and that will cause large deviation in velocity's. He recommended to keep atleast .250 in case neck to keep proper neck tension. Is this all true? Also I'm having trouble measuring coal...

    Really confused on coal for factory 168, 175 smk's

    Ok, sierra reccommends one bullet width of bearing surface in case neck (.308). But when i measure how much bearing surface is in neck of factory 168, or 175 fed. Gold metal match I get .260 bearing surface in neck. So how could they recommend this if they dont do it themselves?? I ask because...

    What 175smk coal's have you tried.

    I have a remington long throat 700 ltr, 2.950 coal. I modified my magazine to duplicate the Wyatt extended box mag. So now i can make my coal whatever I want. SO i was wondering what you guys have tried for the 175 smk, whats the least amount of bearing surface you have left in case neck.
