    Rifle Scopes optic question-new to this

    im about to get a rem 700 vtr 5R and im thinking of running a nikon monarch x 4-16x50 up top. ? is for long distance can i run a 20 MOA base with that scope or not. Max Internal Adjustment is 50MOA. or do i just need a standard base? thanks for any help
