    Back of bolt not cut straight...

    Was just cleaning my rifle and noticed the back of my bolt the part the goes into the bolt when shot, is not cut straight but on a bit of a angle like one side might be 1/16 or less further out then the other side, is this anything to worry about for accuracy or is this normal for production rifles?

    I'm new to this gun thing, I bought a 700 5r in 308 and a vortex viper pst 6-24x50, now I need to order some rings for it I'm thinking I'll get a 20 moa base so I don't know what size rings?     Will my viper vortex pst 6-24x50 reach out to 1000

    I'm wondering if my viper will reach out to 1000 yards without hold over? The scope has 65 moa so 32.5 of elevation and I'll be using a 20 moa base so that's 52.5? Also will I be able to zero this thing in at 100 yards do you think or with the 20 moa base it won't be able to?
