    Gunsmithing Winchester 97 forend cap nut..

    Anyone have one these shotguns? I've got this one stripped for refinish, except can't get the forend cap nut off on the action slide to get wood grip off. This is the takedown model that doesn't have the screws in the wood on the pump. I can't see anyway to get this off without tearing it up...
