Run M2S Flash light on 12v power outlet?

I was hoping there might be someone on the hide that has some knowledge on LED flash lights that can help me, I have a jet beam M2S and I would like to power it via the 12v power socket in a car. I shouldn't have any problems rigging up the necessary wiring but am wondering if the torch can...

Tips for Loading VLD's in the 25/06

Hi all On the recommendation of fellow hide members I have decided to try 115 Berger VLD's in my 25/06. I did a ladder test at 600 yards and didn't see any obvious nodes. So i went straight to trying a load of 60gr of H1000 with the bullet about 5 thou off the lands and Remington 9 1/2 primers...

    Tumbler Media for .223

I have a lyman tumbler with walnut media which i have been using to good effect on 25/06 brass. I was wondering what media other people are using which doesn't...

    Gunsmithing Blackening a scope rail

I received a Warne Scope rail today but I'm just not happy with the colour of it, its not quite black enough, its more of a dark grey, and its not going to suit my scope or rings. Obviously I'm being pedantic on this one but i like things to look good. I can get black oxide done easy enough but...

Rifle Scopes Using a scope near its limit of elevation travel

After much pondering and with the help of fellow Hide members I have decide that I will buy a Zeiss conquest 6.6-14x50 AO scope for use on a .223. I want to get the maximum possible range out of this setup (about 900-1000 yards)but then there's a problem, the scope only has 45MOA of elevation...

Rifle Scopes New Glass. Sightron, Bushnell, Zeiss or Leopold?

So Im piecing together a new rifle which I'm thinking will be a Howa action, heavy Krieger barrel and bell and carson stock, .223 rem. As is so often the case I'm coming unstuck when it come to choosing glass. My first thought was to get a Mk4 4.5-14x50 for around $1350 in Australia. Now I'm...

    Gunsmithing Sako 85 tapered base

So I don't know if anyone cares but in the effort to squeeze some extra range out of my Sako I have modified my Sako optilock bases to give me 15MOA taper ( I'm pretty sure such bases cannot be bought). The modification was as simple as grinding 0.43mm off the front base with a surface grinder...

Primers siting proud of the case head

So I'm loading for the 25/06 using Winchester brass which I saved up from factory ammo and I'm priming it with Remington primers. I'm finding that on many of my loads the primers do not seat down flush but rater stick up a bit, I am using a Lyman hand priming tool which seats the primers down...

    Mixing copper and lead projectiles

Ages ago I read in a magazine that if a .22 is used shooting copper plated projectiles and the plain lead ones are use it will start shooting flyers, and the only way to fix it is to clean the bore.Has anyone ever experienced this?
