Looking to buy a CZ 455 American . My objective is punching paper with small groups. Will this gun fill the bill with a decent scope? Thanks for any info.
I am looking to replace the existing stock on my Rem 700 SPS Varmint. I like the looks of what Richards has to offer. Has anybody had dealings with them and if so how was the experience?
I am trying to find out how much H335 powder to use in Win .223 cases with Nosler HPBT 52 gr bullets. the Nosler website only shows data for Nosler cases, 24.0 gr as a starting load. Winchester brass has more capacity i.e. 30.1 gr H2O vs. 27.5 for Nosler. Just looking for a starting load. Thanks...
Sorry for dumb question, but as a new reloader I am trying to learn from people with experience. I just bought some Winchester brass ( new ). Do I need to resize these cases before reloading them ? Does the neck need to be expanded ? It seems to be quite tight when I try to hand feed a bullet...
Anybody using Thumler Tumler to clean brass ? If so, does it do a good job ? Where can I get stainless steel cleaning media ? I am trying to get my cases looking new!
I am new to reloading and want to learn about changing primers. Presently I am loading for a 223 with Win. brass and Win. small rifle primers, 20.8 gr. of H335 with a 55 gr. Hornady V-Max. My question is can I substitute CCi or Federal primers in place of the Win. primers?
I am looking to buy a first time center fire rifle. The Remington 700 VTR 223 catches my eye. Is this a good starter rifle re: accuracy and barrel life? Most of my shooting will be from 100 - 300 yds. Low recoil is necessary due to shoulder problems. I already have a Vortex Viper 6.5-20x50 scope...
Trying to figure which will give me best accuracy from bench. I did buy a cheap bipod and I now need to get something that will not fall apart ! Any thoughts would be appreciated.
My new Ruger 7717 had a trigger that felt like I was pulling a cork from a wine bottle! A new sear from Volquartsen installed in 20 minutes took a 61/2 lb. pull to 23/4 lb. Wow! What a difference ! Looking forward to a trip to the range tomorrow! I am betting groups will shrink. What say you?
I just received my new Ruger 7717, nice gun ! I find the trigger to be too heavy. What do you folks recommend, TB Timney or can this be changed by a gunsmith. Other than that this is a really nice gun!
