I've been shooting a Sig Sauer P226 in 9mm for years now and consider myself very proficient in it. I would like to upgrade to a more high performance side arm. My budget is about 1,000 dollars. Not big on Glock or Berretta's. Anything else, I'm up for suggestions

I know I'm a newbie, and I know there are different grips to fit different situations. If the weather holds out next week, I plan on taking my Remington R-15 in .223 out to zero it at about 500yds. I plan on doing the usual bench firing at a local range. What would be a proper grip on the weapon?
