AI AX.308 w/ left handed action

AI AX.308 barrel length question
Hi, I will probably be purchasing an AX.308 soon and was wondering what barrel length to get. If any one has any reccomendations and/or explanations that would be great. Would an AX.308 be good for me?
I am new to precision shooting and live in CT, however I have significant experience shooting trap and skeet as well as pheasant, quail, etc with a 12/20 gauge. Money is not a problem.
