Sounds like this raffle raised a little over 10k dollars. Awesome job every one, especially shedhorn for getting this together, and catswithguns for his very generous donation to sweeten the raffle! I'm pretty new to this forum, but not to the gun community. Glad I could be a part of this...

Instead of painting/coating your rifle... has anyone considered this?

Plastidip goes on somewhat thick when compared to paint/duracoat/cerakote. May cause some issues when it comes to tight tolerances, just something to keep in mind.

300 yards shooting is all over the place.

Could be crappy ammo, otherwise you said yourself that you are not a very good shooter. Fundamentals are key, when you start getting out to longer ranges those deficiencies and inconsistencies multiply themselves. Shoot some groups at 100 yards and go from there.

    .308 168gr vs 175gr

Inside supersonic ranges there is very little difference that I have noticed personally, 175's do buck the wind a little better on days where its blowing hard but its only a slight advantage. To the OP, the price is nearly identical between the two, unless you dont ever plan on shooting long...

    .308 168gr vs 175gr

Many people, myself included havent had much luck with the 168's staying stable going transonic. It may not be right at 700 yards but that depends on your conditions/load. FGMM isnt a hot load for the 168's to begin with.

    Recommend a Recoil Pad

Limbsaver or Decelerators are nice. They arent as easy to fit without damaging the stock finish as the manufacturers may want you to think. If you are refinishing the stock its no big deal, otherwise take your time and tape off the stock to protect it when you grind/sand to match. Limb saver...

    Rifle Scopes Cheap Red Dots

I have a couple vortex sparcs. They have held up great thus far, of course not on the same playing field as the aimpoints but in their price range they are the best IMO.
