Traded and got one of these for close to nothing. Put it in an MDT LSS chassis I got in a package deal with a Timney trigger. Have about 600 bucks in the whole deal. Shoots very well for an inexpensive setup.
Years ago my OCD cleanfreak Mom comes home from AZ for a visit. We are standing outside and my preschool age son walks up and hands me an apple. I flip out my pocket knife, wipe the blade on my pants leg and peel it, then cut it up, and hand it back. My Mom says oh boy that looks really sterile...
Stopped at a buddies house with my 5 yr old son. I got ready to leave and he just kept going on and going on. Finally I said come on buddy we gotta go and he looked at me and said "I know Dad, shut the fuck up and get in the car". Musta heard that from his mom or sumthin.
I don't have any info to help. I just saw that they had them in a search I did and wanted to pass it along. I have a 25-06 and was interested in them, but my twist rate is too slow I think. Sorry.
I have one that shoots well enough I put it in a chassis. Barrel heats up fairly quick, but if I want to pound rounds down range I have an AR for that.
I got a decent shooting load for 6.5 out of 95 V Max and Varget powder. Mild load chronoed 2940. Haven't had a chance to test it on critters yet, corn is too tall.
Most pistol powders that appear dirty are usually loaded too low for target ammo. Most burn pretty clean at the upper end of the spectrum. Even Bullseye and it is notoriously dirty burning.
So is the factory ammo that shoots good with a high charge weight variance fall into the volume is more important than weight school of thought from a long time ago. Used to be thought that exact volume taking up the same room in a case was more important than weight.
