I built a 250 with a 7 twist last year. Run 75 amax just below 3300. Took it to Montana a month ago. Ran both the 75s and 50 bowler bt and both were gawd awful brutal. Both shot just fine all all ranges I tried. No issues with fragmenting or accuracy at 3680 with 50s
I am heading to Spirit Lake, Iowa first week of Nov and was wondering if anyone was near the area. We are going to pheasant hunt, but would like to hunt coyote in the early mornings or evenings. I have been out there several times with no luck. Looking for any guidance on locations or any other...
Here are 2 of mine. The VLS was a wedding present from someone that was important to me, and the gun had even more of a meaning to me. It is spotless and has a vari-x iii 6.5-20x40 sitting on top. I have shot 4 rounds through it and it now sits in the safe in a gun sock, wrapped up snug as a bug...
Awesome shoot as always. Dave your right, something to be said about the amazing turn out each month. Congrats to Bob too!! He shot incredible. Shot have broke 400 if he didn't have some dumbass to his right giving bad wind calls...sorry Bob haha.
That's crazy. The wife and I just got married and moved into our house a few months back. I ordered a safe when I bought house for my stuff....and it finally came in couple weeks back. Been waiting for it to be delivered for 2 weeks now, and go figure last Saturday right before I was getting...
YES I will be there! Thanks. We should be getting up there around 1-2? Right at end of the shoot. PM me your name BTW haha. SUIScide...that was my exact thoughts....if I burn one up in 1500 +/- rnds....at least I had fun for a bit. I really just wanted a little info before I jump in.
I have a stevens 200 I picked up cheap for this purpose. I wanted to do a "budget build" After spending the kind of money I did on my 260 to have it built with all the right things...I want to see what I can do with less expensive parts and pieces put together by me. How many rds down barrel...
Im torn what to do. I just read through your build thread for your 223AI, which I believe is exactly what my buddy is going to do. But I cant get the idea out of my head of a fast tiwst 22-250. but a 223AI would be a BLAST
So realistically is im not out burning down the woods with it I would be able to see better barrel life? Honestly I may hunt with it a little, but I would probably just play around at the 1000 yd steel matches we shoot. So getting hot would not be a normal thing.
Brass life I can understand with higher pressure, but im having a little bit of trouble understanding the barrel life part? As stated by someone else here, if my 1-14 shoots 50s out to 3800ish then why does a 80gr going 3200ish burn barrels faster? Or does it? A buddy of mine explained it like...
