Newbie Asks: Why do you say the Production (Rifle) Division is a Joke?

Austin cleaned this entire match put on by Prentice last year. This was an AG Cup match and a Qualifier.! Its supposed to be one of the hardest matches in the nation! The top 68 shooters got a 90% or better score!! Super unacceptable from an MD perspective. These guys all got a huge leg up in...

Newbie Asks: Why do you say the Production (Rifle) Division is a Joke?

His two day matches are the same though. His Rimfire Finale last year was a meatball match. These matches don't belong in the Pro Series of the PRS. Regional/club is fine. But on a national level they crap all over a level playing field. When a guy cleans his match which is an AG Cup/Qualifier...

    LPVO + Dot question

Fixed it 🤣 This dot and mount allows for a simple 45 degree cant. I still have a cheek weld, and the size of the turrets and objective lens are irrelevant. It works on everything.

    LPVO + Dot question

I run this rig on my wolf/lion hunting rifle. This is an old photo, I've had this set up for 4 or 5 years. Still have the rifle which is a 6.5 Creedmoor gas gun, currently running an illuminated 3-18 XTRIII with this offset red dot. Works great, zero issues. The scope is perfect for my needs...

    Rifle Scopes Razor Gen3 6-36x56 on a AR15

You're going to need outriggers as well to balance that 4lb scope on the small rifle. Old Towne makes some good ones 🤣

    Spotters Optic protection on tripod

I bought one of those shower caps. I don't use it. You reach a point where you stop babying your gear. Treat it as best you can, but at some point, it has to be up to the task. Obviously I don't lay it down on the lenses, but armored binos can touch the ground. Here's a pic from the match...

    Spotters Optic protection on tripod

I shot the same match, but I've been here before having shot Hornady for four years in a row. Hang your Gamechanger or backpack from the hook, or lay it down when you aren't there to hang onto it.

Haha, that's an understatement.. There was zero marketing by Burris of the Veracity to long range shooters. It's a hunting scope, that was never their market. The were offering FFP/Mil/mil reticles to hunters. It didn't get much sales activity compared to their moa/BDC scope. But I...

Yes, lots of shared technology there.

    Scope choices for DMR rifle

I run the XTRIII 3.3-18x50 on my 6.5 Creedmoor gasser with a 22" barrel. I personally find it just about perfect for this configuration at 29ozs and 13" in length. Plenty of magnification for every PRS target I've shot at with it, and the best FOV for anything under 3k. Comes with the SCR2...

I'm still very firmly in the "illumination is overrated" camp. 🤣 I've been hunting big game, and everything else in Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming since 1976. I've never used illumination or needed it to take a shot. Most of my life, I've never even had it. I've turned it on a couple of occasions...

Maven is a pretty small brand. And none of that says they are selling them in quantity. I'm not trying to be the Devil's Advocate here. Like I said, I've had this conversation with high mucky mucks at Burris on more than one occasion. They cut their teeth on hunting optics in the 70's and...

I agree, I don't think there's been much commitment. But on the occasion when a manufacturer dips their toe into the pool, not much seems to happen. Burris offered the Veracity, their flagship hunting scope in mil FFP with an SCR reticle. Which is an excellent hunting reticle. And it didn't...
