Finally a Good Shot Marker Stand

I wanted a large frame and wanted it a bit more portable. I cut and machined the cross bars square on the ends and installed 1/4-20 thread inserts and drilled the verticals as a matched set. I use a 7/16 nut driver to assemble with the 4 bolts once I get there. In the playing around mode...

Sizing machine gun brass- what worked for me

Not all machine guns or firearms in general treat brass the same. Remember the difference between semiauto fired brass and machinegun fired brass can be as little as what position the selector is in (technically if it has a selector it's just a machinegun fired in semiauto but you get the...

    Making a 10mm out of a 40 S&W

I think they are not enough of a destructive pest to the farmer yet. If they were he would be paying you to kill them and wouldn't care if you used a squirt gun as long as they were dead.

    Quick brass drying

The Sun in Texas during the summer will not only dry thousands of cases in 2.5 beers but also make them too hot to hold in your hand. In the winter time I have a little heated fan I use but it takes longer.

    Making a 10mm out of a 40 S&W

I have killed them with pistols as small a .284, (7mmBR) but if you have a place to hunt, why piss the guy off? Just get what he wants and do what you want to do. You might as well argue "killing factor" of pistol rounds or rifle rounds for that matter. In the end, you will just make the...

    Making a 10mm out of a 40 S&W

I have killed a lot of stuff I would not eat. For that matter I have trapped and poisoned a lot of animals that were a nuisance, that not only do I not care how they die but the fact that they do, never a plan on eating them. Rats, mice, coyotes, the list can go on and on....Hogs have a side...

    Making a 10mm out of a 40 S&W

Back when I was a kid I used to load 357 mag up close to 41 mag levels. Now that I am older I take a 44 mag and down load it to 41 levels. One way isn't as cool as the other but safe and brass and firearms will last a lot longer.

    Home made scope leveling jig....

I agree. Machinest levels are very precise but I have never seen people to do a final align with more than one of them.

    Home made scope leveling jig....

Why? The "up/down" level is useless because you have no way to change it, unless you machine the rail the rings are on. All you really need is a single level. Set it on the surface the rail is sitting on, make that level, then move it to the turret, rotate scope until it is level.

Stainless Steel Media and tumbling, idea, help....

I never found depriming to be fun clean or dirty but never found any difference in effort. If you don't use case lube, sizing will be more difficult with washed brass.

    Multiple rifles in one caliber

For the most part I load for the rounds to fit the case gauge so no matter what I am shooting from beltfed to bolt action, they all work.

    Target stands for steel.

You can get them from here. Steel Targets and Products by www.handgunsports.com I make mine. You can pull out the legs to remove any wiggle without the top bolt though. I did the "flasher" style and used 2"x 1/4" flat strap. Just black when sitting there Pops up red when...

    Auto 300 blackout cutter

Had a few hours after supper tonight and threw together another idea I had. Looks like it will cut down 2880/hr .223 cases to be final trimmed for 300 blk. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mD2tugzRnD0

Upgrade ?'s: Dillon presses and drill press trimmers?

I had the same problem when we moved, wound up making the bench 18" wide and L shape. Narrowed the bench instead of mounting the press's on flimsy brackets. Bolted a rubber stop to the leg by the door so it didn't get banged up.

    Automated single stage

It is a long way away from kit forum. I have a couple of other irons in the fire and need to do some more refinements first. I also had another idea this morning that may have more interest than this one would generate.

    Automated single stage

Added the drop tube and sized a few bullets this morning. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01zbImsdkbg I'll have to order a push through case sizing die and give it a try with brass. I already have an automated roll sizer though. I still need to make another bullet flipper, the one I...
