Im in the same boat actually, it depends on where you look. There's lots of threads on where to start. I'm starting a Howa build that would be done over the next year or so (funds willing) that will be just about 700.

Then get on here and read, read, read. Not saying asking questions is wrong, but there's a wealth of knowledge on here to be had. That's what I've been doing the last few months.

Depends on what you want in the aftermarket, there is one chassis for howa that I am aware of but B&C,manners and Mcmillian all make stocks for the 1500 and there are several choices for replacement triggers

+1 to the Sightron 8-32, it can also be had cheaper than 1K if you look around a bit

Also if I had 3500 into a rig, that isn't whats going into the woods with me.

Great news on the centerfire stocks, I know they are already making a replacement stock for the rimfire American.

So basically no aftermarket stocks until there's enough demand to justify a line just for americans?

I'd be curious to know if anyone has heard anything about aftermarket support as well. Love my RAR in .270, looks like the .223 predator would be a good starting point for a build.
