Hi all! At the moment, my dad owns a browning lightning blr in 30-06. He has always liked lever actions since he is a leftie. While trying to sight it in this past week, we both grew weary of shooting it due to the recoil. The thing purt near took my arm off. I mentioned trading it for something...
Juat wanted to give an update and say thanks again. It was a beautiful day to shoot in South Dakota with 72 degrees and a 3-5 mph wind so I headed out to the range. This time I took my new kestrel with me. I decided to take the advice you guys gave and started with more accurate data. I also...
PS thank you everyone for not tearing me apart. I know that you are all very tempted to, but that is why I had to ask. There is know way to know what you don't know. Thanks again guys.
So, added all together, what I am hearing is that I have much more reading to do and to walk before I run. Any suggestions about books, etc. that would encompass enough to get me started?
Agreed. My only reasoning was that with my completely out of the box rock river eop, I can hit a 12x12 plate out to 700 pretty easily using the same ballistic program stated above. My 260 is three times the rifle so I assumed (probably wrongly) that I should be able to accomplish a 1000yd shot...
Ok I will try to validate at 800 or so, but I don't understand the density altitude thing. Is it different from just altitude? Do I have to have a special kestral or something? How do you figure that? This is why I put this in the stupid questions forum. I know I am missing one or several...
Ok so I take my nifty new 260 with a 24 inch cbi barrel, zero it at 100 yds, (avg group size .3") enter my load data into strelok, calculate clicks up at 1000yds, pull the trigger several times, and completely miss the 16" square target. I bring a target in to 300 yes and do the velocity...
My Walther p22 with the longer barrel has NEVER jammed. I have well over 3000 rounds through it and love all of the features. Sent from my RM-860_nam_usa_100 using Tapatalk
My 7mm-08 is my hunting rifle and I have been happy with .75 moa. I can get .4 ish moa (usually high .3's) out of my AR platform. The rifle I just bought is a savage lrp action with a cbi 1/8 twist 24" barrel on a mcree chassis. It also has a Ross break. This is the first rifle I have owned that...
What does everyone do as far as sizing? Do you use FL dies or just neck size? I am under the impression that just neck sizing is going to be more consistent because the brass is already fire formed to your chamber. True. . . .or nah? Sent from my RM-860_nam_usa_100 using Tapatalk
