Gunsmithing Advise to get my barrel cut or not.
Well background on the rifle it is a remington 700 police with a 26in barrel. I am going to send it off to get it threaded soon and was wondering if there would be any positives of getting it cut back and if so how far back should I go. Thanks guys Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- FFNick240

Yeah it is great out there. I was extremely happy that I hit it. Then again some of the guys there said that they had just put the 24"x24" target at 1000'yards and that is what I was able to hit. Next time I'm out there I am going to see if I can't get the 10" plate. If I can do that then I will...- FFNick240

Another Cincinnati guy here. I usually shoot at Middletown sportsman, they go out to 200 yards and have steel targets. It's an alright range for the price. I was looking at those and I really like the look and I have read that they are super effective but on the website it says they come in stainless or steel. Is the steel painted black or is it bare. Haha thanks frank I really hope I never break the muzzle but do you to brake the muzzle. I have a buddy who is a Marine sniper and he recommends surefire so I'm leaning that way unless someone puts me in another direction.- FFNick240

Any experience with the Remington 597 Heavy Barrel
