Yes I did And I felt like asking the question again with a quote from the people that make the ammo I'm shooting. I'm sorry my post made you open it and read the same info again.
I'm shooting Gorilla Ammo and here is the quote from their web page: "Designed for Service Rifle competition in the M16A2/AR15-A2 the Sierra MatchKing bullets have set an incredible number of new national records. This projectile is well known for it's excellent accuracy at 200 and 300 yards...
I am about to start hunting coyotes with my AR15 which loves 69gr SMK. Ill be hunting out in the Eastern Plains of Colorado, and long accurate shots are a must. I'm looking to skin and sell the pelts. My question is, "Are 69gr SMK suitable for the job with the little expansion they provide?"
It's coming When, not sure but I talked to the SWFA guys and they said it will be coming out. The company seems to listen to their customers. So, what would you recommend they do differently with the HD model versus the standard 3-15.
So at the range and right now after cleaning I checked everything except for taking off the hand guard and checking the barrel nut. The Smith put the scope and mount on using blue locktite. As for as the CeraKote, only the upper, lower, and hand guard were done. Everything else was left alone.
Looking for your thoughts on this situation: Recently took my rifle to a gunsmith to be stripped of DuraCoat and replaced with CeraKote. Also had the Smith mount a new Scope while he had the rifle (Steiner Tactical 3-12x56, Badger Ordnance Uni Mount). Took my rifle out to the range today...
Any thing that gives you an advantage regardless of the margin is still an advantage. I say try new things see if they work and let the rest of us here on SH know your results. Once my Sent-Lok gets in I will be putting it through the paces and posting back here what I find.
Wish I would have been a member of SH back in June. Was not aware of this event. If you know of any other shooting events in Colorado please continue to post.
I go out to the Pike's National Forrest about 2 a month for shooting and off roading. I've never run into this situation, but it sounds dangerous. I normally head up 24 and when I get to Divide I take a right at the light and head out towards Hackett Gulch. There was a bad fire out there...
I've always hunted my game with non sent blocking clothing, and a couple squirts of a sent mask. All the while trying to stay down wind of my prey. However, I just ordered a lightweight set of Sent-Lok camo for a good deal. Not sure what to expect, whether I will be able to stalk my prey with...
I've had my custom build AR15 for 4 years, and I am just doing some small mods to make it a small game rifle for long distance. (More powerful scope, silent heavy capture spring, new scope mount, and just polishing up and truing everything.) I started a thread about increasing the accuracy in...
I thought California had a lot of homeless people, but I think Colorado Springs might take the cake. I'm wanting to get into long range, small game/predator hunting. I know there are good prairies in Wyoming.
Watched your video, you seem a little young to be on a forum. But keep up the good work. It's all about trigger control and taking time to aim. Not sure you are old enough to use a ruler or tape measure, but I think you are not shooting the groups you think you are. Honestly you are going...
Honestly, I started this thread to see if anybody had any tips or tricks about increasing the accuracy in my ar-15. I currently have a SJC Titan comp on the end of my barrel, and I'm very interested to know if the brand this person is talking about is SICK. If IT is creating worse accuracy then...
Having to qualify with a gas mask on while it's raining and you are rolling around in the mud sucks. I do like shooting in Army ranges more than an Air Force range.
