    Guess a little bit of a necro post, but would just like to add my MDT precision bottom metal also has that step and does not seat in the inlett of mcmillan m5 dbm. It also has that rocking movement i believe is due to that step.

    Greetings. Recently aquired my m40a1 clone. Smear stock, U.S marked Redfield 3x9 wideview. Win 70 bottom metal. Unfortunately the bottom metal serial number does not match the stock and reciever is not clip slotted but does start with an A prefix. Barrel still needs to be black Oxided but...
