I've had a couple PM's asking about the second generation Bering Optics Super Yoter clip on. The main question seems to be "how good is the image at range". I thought I would post these here for others who might be interested also. I'm not going to call this a comparison, because we all know...
I'm going to start a new thread for the discussion that's taking place in the Eotech/Theon. My last question was. What is the definition of Unity related to causing a shift in the image that the thermal provides. I thought Unity simply meant that there was a 1-1 ration in the size of the...
I'm bored. Help me spend some money! I'm looking to upgrade my Yoter-C this summer with the primary purpose of coyote hunting with a 22 Creed bolt rifle paired with a Radius LRF. 50% of the coyotes I killed this year were within 100yds, 30% were 1-300 and the rest were as far as 450yds. I'm...
I'm getting ready to inlet my Manners T2a stock for a Badger EFR in anticipation of mounting a Theon Clip-on thermal later this year and my action has an integral 20moa rail. Should I install the front rail parallel to the barrel or should I cant it 20moa to match the scope rail?
Most of you have probably seen my thread documenting my experience with the Halo XRF. To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. But I don't want this thread to turn negative, N-Vision is going to work with the dealer to get me credit and I'm moving on. The XRF has so much going for...
I bought a Halo XRF without doing much research to replace a Trail 2 XQ50 LRF for 400+ yd shots on coyotes. I have no problems ringing steel at 1k plus with my match rig, so I'd like a thermal scope that will at least let me engage shots in the 500yd range. My issues with the Trail were a LRF...
Long story, I'll try to keep it short. How much of the brass can stick out of the chamber before the case wall/web that's left unsupported can't handle the pressure and it ruptures? Is there a hard number not to exceed? The rifle in question is a Defiance chambered in 6BRa using Lapua brass...
I'm brand new to thermals and am having some issues with the Pulsar I bought new last week and put on my .223 bolt rifle. I'm happy with the image it provides, but the first problem I noticed is that it won't detect shots being fired and trigger the auto record feature. I called the service...
I'm going to start off by saying that I don't claim to be a machinist, barely claim to be a gunsmith, and certainly have no formal education in either. That said, the idea of measuring threads by Pitch Diameter seems to be a relatively simple concept. So why are there so many people in this...
I need to open up the bottom of a 700 clone for a double stack AW mag on my Bridgeport. It doesn't look like rocket science, but I've never done it before. Can anybody share some dimensions, tricks, or trouble areas to avoid? Even pics would help. Thanks!
I know I've seen a tennon print on here for the RPR before, but now I can't find it. Can somebody link me up? Also, I've got a guy with a couple Rem Varmint profile blanks he wants spun up for it. Any issues with that? Thanks.
I'm chambering for a custom action and their print doesn't call out a pitch diameter, just major. They told me to just make it to Remington specs, but I can't Google up anything reliable, and I'm not sure how to calculate it. Do most people just cut them by test fitting? If somebody had the...
I have a large, industrial duty lathe, but the headstock is too long to run a spider on the outboard end. I'm sick of working in the steady rest with a cats head, so I was thinking about using something like the Viper chambering fixture that holds the barrel with 8 set screws in the three jaw...
When you dial in a barrel using the first few inches of the chamber and the throat, do you disregard any minor run-out at the muzzle end, or do you clock the run-out in a specific direction? The obvious layman's answer would be point it up, but the more I think about it, does it matter?
